live, or frozen

Okay, I have a Q. Would you rather feed live, or frozen. Maybe buy a live one from the pet store, but kill it before feeding it? ???

Frozen thawed... convenient, safe, easiest on the mouse and the snake!

Like Lenny, I would only feed live if my snake wouldn't accept frozen-thawed.

Danielle said it best...F/T Safer and easier.

However, I do fresh killed, but I also raise my own feeders.

I do like fresh-killed, but it gets WAY too expensive once you get up to a certain number of snakes. After that, it's cheaper and easier to go f/t.

I raise my own feeders. When they reach the size I need for my snakes I humanely kill them then freeze for later. In an emergency I might feed a live pink or fuzzy but nothing bigger than that. I love my snakes too much to risk the damage that could occur.

Well, the risk of the mouse turning on the snake and injuring, or even killing the snake, is what's wrong with feeding live.

Like others have said, it's not a terrible thing to do, but it should be plan B. ;)
