I'll be in contact with Ron Popiel for licensing the the new Moose-A-Matic®.

It'll make me as wealthy as Montgomery Burns.

(And Elle.....when you become a nurse....just don't become a surgical nurse, 'k?)

regards,
jazz

Oh no no I don't want to work as a surgical nurse, I don't even want to be a hospital nurse.

My path shall be mental health nursing :crazy02:

Hmmm...after seeing these pics, I'm thinking that might be an appropriate choice for you. :grin01: ;) :grin01:

You are one crazy chick, Elle. Never in a million years would I have thought to cut up a mouse. I bet that would cure even the pickiest feeder!

Actually I was looking up a chart on moose disection as I was cutting him up. I managed to locate the liver, heart and intestines! Whoo me.

The funnies thing was chopping off this male mooses mahooosive balls and feeding them to Noir!

Elle, dear...you're really not helping the "crazy" argument here. :grin01:

It's ok, I don't mind. My milk snakie loved his bloody meal, so thats all that matters!

I hope his poop isn't too awful, hes only handled fuzzies before LOL

haha oh lord, thats a little sick Elle! lol
Not too sure I would enjoy cuting up a mouse, but thats a really good idea.
Ugh, I need a garbage disposal soon. Akasha is already starting to refuse because winters comming and I dont know what to do with a bitten, constricted small/medium rat lol! haha maybe cut it up into corn size peices lol!! just kidding :puke01:

What did you use Elle? Because my usual mousing tool is a sharp pair of scissors and I don't think they would do this kind of work.. I have a milk and a king who I'll bet would eat this way. I kind of sympathize because even as they keep getting bigger they still need lots of small food and sometimes it seems they are 'hogging' all the pinks.

I'd do it! Not with leftovers (there aren't any around here) but I have no shortage of fuzzies or XL mice.. (exacto knife?)

Just scissors are foreceps to pull out all the important parts LOL. I didn't feed the ribs or the skull as it was rather sharp and to be honest, not much good :p

Well, the skull was too big for his wee mouth! And the ribs were all sharp and pointy etc. He got lots of moose drumsticks though!

Rat pups are smaller and have pretty good nutrition over same size mice. You could try that, as well. I have no problem with cutting up mice, but there might be an easier solution by switching to rats.

No guys... food size isn't the problem! I am actually trying to use up all the crap before ordering another thousand or so mice.

I WANTED to cut up the moose for him as it was going in the bin anyways. I don't like to feed my colubrids rats at all, but rat pups would be the perfect size for him.

Well Elle, I had absolutely no problem with your pics of a dissected mouse. I've always had a strong stomach, especially after growing up on a farm and then being a vet tech for over 25 years. I've eaten lunch with my left hand while my right hand was washing maggots out of a sedated dog. Even while working in Weeki Wachee's Birds of Prey show, one of my favorite jobs was to cut up the rats for the birds. We couldn't just give them their whole meal at once...it had to be spread throughout 3 shows so the birds would perform. The "bestest" part was pounding the rat parts and chicken necks with a mallet to break the bones (people could handle what looked like chop meat better than a rat leg or head). And yes, occasionally while pounding, tiny bits would go flying in all directions! I really miss that job......

Looks like the treats my parents cats have brought home. No puking here.

Nicely done! I love how you call it a moose. :grin01:

Great story Susan! Maybe next time I will pound that moose with a hammer!
