Hey everyone! this morning i woke up and i knew what today was....Build the huge hatchling rack, to hold baby cornsnakes, It holds 60!! THAT'S RIGHT 60 BINS!! 6qt Bins, there is space under the rack, right now its storage for shipping boxes! but later on i can add more levels if i would like, the rack is complete with Flex-Watt Heat Tape and a thermostat along with pegboard backing! only took One whole day to build. the total for this bad boy was.... Around $350 for everything but a Thermostat, i already had a Thermostat so that saved a bit of money.it was made out of Melamine board, (you know the classic white you always see) the local Menards here carries a few colors, Mainly being Pure white, Lighter wood grain, and Darker wood grain....(darker or "oak" as its called was used for this rack) and i LOVE it its HUGE its 6FT TALL!!!!

All and all i LOVE it :p

That is a beauty!! speaking from experience though,.. you may want to cut some dividers and run a row down the middle so as to prevent the unit from sagging down the road. Nicely done!! can not wait to see those bins filled!!

Are you going to call it The Candy Store? Looks great! I wish I could build stuff like that!!

Looks good, and I agree, you should add a brace in the middle to keep it from sagging.

As big as it looks its only about 4ft wide, I have another rack made of the same stuff Melamine, i built, 3 years ago and it doesn't sag, i really dont think this rack will.

sweet !!

nice neo rack !! and kudos for diy stuff  i don't think you'll have much of a sagging problem, only because of the fact there baby corns that weigh next to nothing. i have a little bit smaller rack similar to yours for ball python hatchlings...built the same way and i have had no sagging problems 7yrs later.
i will say though adding a bracket or something in the middle of it will make it more sturdy.

good luck.

Nice Rack! I wouldn't worry about it sagging, it looks like you built it pretty solid and with all the tubs supporting it you shouldn't have to worry about sag issues. None of the melamine racks I've built have sagged. Nice work!

To everybody else, you'd be amazed how easy it is to build this stuff. It is also a LOT cheaper than the commercial racks.

NICE! I love that you have a piece of wood on top of it. My rack (which is CONSIDERABLY smaller) has a sweet piece of wood on top of it too!!

Good luck with your hatchlings! Looks like they're all set!

Neat rack!

I so much hate the fact there is no flex watt tape available over here.... perfect for hatchlings racks *argh*
