Man throws python against wall; beats his wife afterwards.

I understand what you're saying... but the fact that he threw his PREGNANT WIFE has to take precedence. I know we're all snake people here, but some things DO take priority.

I'm just glad she delivered the baby. I feel horrible that their 17 month old saw all of this... :(

yeah, animal cruelty it might be. but its a supposed, not a definite. theres no proof other than 2 really pissed off individuals, and a toddler who was probably in shock. i feel sorry that people live in those kind of situations. poor lil girl having to watch daddy push around mommy. hope that a$$ gets it good someday.

Fred pretty much summed it up for me.

I see what your saying about snake cruelty being put on the back burner, but this certainly takes precedence in my opinion.
Even as a snake lover, I find myself putting the snakes welfare to the side for a moment. It's not out of lack of compassion, but it enrages me more to hear a woman, especially pregnant woman, being attacked by her husband.
Sure animal cruelty is an under prosecuted offense, especially when it involves reptiles. But domestic violence is far too common, and not much is being done to punish or stop it.

I'm always grateful when Fred posts first when it comes to these kinds of stories. He's a great parental barometer as to whether I want to enter this into the brain or not...in this case, it's pretty obvious, NOT.

I was just discussing childhood memories with Dean earlier today. What might seem like nothing to the parents, there are some things that stay in a child's brain for decades....things that make such a monumental impact that they just never forget. I'm not always successful, but I at least try to think before I react..."will my child discuss this with his therapist in 20 years?"
It's waaay to easy to screw up a kid.

Lori, I know what you mean. One thing I remember vividly as a child (Heaven knows why) was the night my mom was making supper and my dad called from work. He worked for Allstate Insurance, but his office was located in the Sears Store downtown. He had my mom put my sister and me on the phone....He was picking up some pajamas for us and wanted to know if we prefered red or blue. I was about 8 or 9 I think. Stupid thing to remember, but it still makes me smile :)

I feel the worst for that poor 17 month old, who won't be having the childhood I did. I hope that guy gets what coming to him....

I've always said that my last dog ( Charr RIP) was a better person than most people. I pray this woman finds the courage to leave that dirtball...the kids are always next to be abused after the mother.

ps) A comment from the article:
Unfortunately because the pet was a snake and not considered a "domestic pet" i.e. cat or dog, it isn't protected under the new felony law. Activists are still trying to pass Henry's Law so that snakes, guinea pigs etc. would be protected.

This guy sounds like a winner! Hopefully his wife doesn't remain so for very much longer and gets away from him.

And the worst part is that the bass turd will probably be out of prison in short order, if he even gets convicted.

even if he is out in short order. hopefully shes got the guts to leave him. and i hope he is convicted. i know for a fact that guys in prison who hit women get raped and beat up the most. so hopefully he gets put in even if for a short while. he'll understand after.
