MIAMI TESSERA !! (highly anticipated clutch)

Ok, I talked to Tara, and Taz, the sire to the Miami Tessera clutch, as well as the Alabama Tessera clutch had no hets. He was solid Okeetee Tessera.

So the hets are all out of the females.

Ok gottcha. Knowing the info on the sire, that defiantly explains the wide blotch boarders on the Candycane in the egg !!

May make for some REALLY nice looking Okeetee Candycane Tesseras as well !!! ;)

Do ya'll happen to know what Okeetee line ??...Pics. ??

I know that Don S produced him, but I do not know his history beyond that.

I posted pics of the parents to your female Miami Tessera in my 2014 Miami Tessera post.

Ok cool. More than likely from the Abbott line then. I believe this is what line he actually now lables as Extreme Okeetee.

Thanks Heather,

LOL.............never mind, I just re-read what you posted, yes it says Okeetee Tessera, OK.

For some reason I'm thinking a typical BLOTCHED Okeetee. I'm on track now...............LOL

That means in may not be the Abbott line Okeetee. Could possibly be from Graham :shrugs:

Yes, Taz, the sire to our 1st generation Miami Tessera clutch was an Okeetee Tessera. (If I remember correctly, Nanci has a male sibling to him.)
That's why we were so (pleasantly) surprised that the 1st generation of our Miami Tessera's ended up so nice.
I fully expected them to need a couple generations of refining.
I owe a lot to the Dam of that clutch. (She is pictured in my 2014 Miami Tessera post as well.)

I believe so.

I stand corrected on the poss het Stripe, since the Tessera sire to your girl does not have any hets, the Stripe came from my (former) Alabama female, Mica, so unless the Maimi phase dam carried any other hets, it would only be Amel.

That's good to know because Gartersnake is one of the best Okeetee Tesseras I've seen in my opinion, and to know the sire to my Miami Tessy possibly came from that line, there could be some really nice Okeetee Miamis, Okeetee Miami Tesseras, Okeetee Candycanes (which it apprears at least one from my pic) and Okeetee Candycane Tesseras in my clutch.

I'm getting even more excited about them now.......LOL

Gottcha on the poss het Stripe. I still may test her later on down the line though, just to be sure ;)
So, are you saying the wild caught Alabama female you got from me was het Stripe ??

I appreciate all the info Heather.

Thanks, Walter

I think the line of Tesseras that Gartersnake and Taz came from was one where Don was working on wide black borders. Tara actually has a Gartersnake son sitting at my house, waiting patiently for her to collect him. He's gorgeous.

Edit- I really think there is a huge amount of interest for specialty "locality" tesseras, like Miami, Okeetee and Alabama. Jarrett has a pair of anery upper keys Tesseras, even. It's more fun for me that the race for the next new combination.

^^This!^^
It would be cool if mine proved out het Amel, but honestly, I am hoping that all of the babies from my Miami/Miami Tessera clutch are Miami only.

Nanci,
do you happen to know what line or where the Okeetees came form that Don is/was using to achieve the wide black boarders in the Okeetee Tesseras??

Yes. My Alabama Tessera male (out of that WC Alabama female I got from you) was with Buzz and Jamie for about a year, and when they paired him with one of their females, they hatched a Striped (Tessera?) I'm trying to find the thread.

No,I don't. Tara would know the most. Or Don :)
I've got an email in to Don.

Then I take it to get that Alabama Tessera male you bred:

Tessera male X Alabama female (Mica)

Are you absolutley 100% sure the Stripe gene didn't come from the Tessera used to produce your Alabama Tessera male ??
