Took Miss T out today and she's looking pretty nice. Her blue really pops in the sunlight. It's almost purple by her head, but a bright blue on the rest of her. Enjoy!!!

Wow, very pretty. What kind of housing do you keep her in? Is she nice to handle or nasty? I have heard that these guys are rather vicious but I have no personal experience with them.

She's so gorgeous! I love her little tail, too! I saw a bunch of these at Repticon today.

What do they do? Do they stay on their perch all day? Do they ever come down?

Wow! Lots of questions...lets see...
Hypancistrus: She is very tame. Most of my collection is very easy to handle except for one of them. Their reputation was from wild caught animals I believe. The captive born/bred animals are much better. This girl is probably tamer than any snake I have, including the corns. I keep her in an enclosure designed for arboreals. It holds heat and humidity well and has the perches in there for her.

Jenn: She doesn't have an evil bone in her body...except to mice and rats!
Nanci: They remained perched on a branch during the day, coming out after the lights go out. Tempest is very active and usually crawls all over her enclosure. She likes to bathe in her water bowl too. Sometimes they will go to ground (I have a couple that will periodically) but most of the time they stay like this:

So you feed her by tongs? Does she eat while on her branch, or does she have to come down??

You're so lucky to have so many pretty ones! They are PERFECT photo subjects. Kind of like rattlesnakes.

I feed her with tongs and she takes it from her branch. Kind of cool to watch them eat upside down :) I've taken lots of shots of rattlesnakes too. They are awesome subjects. The heavy keeled scales really show detail.
