This precious little angel and demon are just too gorgeous to even stand!

First up is Tumbleweed, a female Trans Pecos rat snake. According to Katie, she's an absolute demon, and terror to everything good. Tony opened up her bag last night, and she was just starting to shed, so we didn't even try to handle her. Here's the pretty lady in shed.

And her future boyfriend, Dustdevil, a "green phase" Trans Pecos (poss blonde). He was an absolute angel, and was so very curious! He only "S"d up once, and that was because I put the camera too close to him. After that, he enjoyed the exploring, and gave me tongue shots galore!

Thanks for looking!

Tumbleweed was always a terror with me - but Mike thinks she isn't so bad - so maybe it is just me? I guess time will tell!
Good luck with them Robbie!

I am so jealous right now, you have no idea! LOL - i've wanted a Suboc for a long time! Just put me on the list of offspring, and when you start breeding let me know! ;) They're so pretty! One day, i'm going to get my grubby paws on a normal patterned silver. :)

:D Thanks, darlin! Of course I'll put you on the list! They should be ready to go (my best guess) either next year, or 2011. Tumbleweed is probably ready to go, but little Dusty just isn't big enough yet.

:shrugs: Maybe she just doesn't like women? We'll just have to wait and see!

Robbie,
This is an interesting Theory that I have used on some of my own snakes. They do not like my SO but are fine with me.
I did a hands on show for a local wildlife center. The woman in charged had an medium sized bull snake they just got and it constantly hissed at her. It was aggressive and just did not like her. She wanted me to look at it due other reasons.
She picked it up and it hissed. She handed to me and it settled down. It was fine and she was just amazed at how calm it was in my hands. I smiled and asked her if I could bring it to my girlfriend. She then held the snake and it hissed and hollered and then gave it back to me and it was calm again.

It kinda works that way at my house with my bulls/gophers and pines. They typically do not care for my SO except for a few localities. They get grumpy with here will they tend to settle down in my hands.

Now the other woman and my SO are in their 30's, it could be a hormonal issue, or the scent that these snakes do not care for.

My little sunglow boa (male) throws a FIT whenever there's a woman anywhere near him. He's struck at Nanci's face before, and tried to tag my neighbors 6 year old daughter.

It really could be a hormonal thing, or possibly just the smell. I'm really tempted to look into this further. Maybe borrowing my neighbors glove, or something to that effect, and seeing how they deal with that smell, and then use my glove.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with sexist snakes, though!
