My Collection: (crap-ton o' pics)

Call me Matt...
Hey everybody, I was taking pictures for my ACR registry last night, and I thought it would be a good idea for this post. Im going to list my collection of snakes for your viewing pleasure, in order from the oldest to the youngest, I will give a little background on each. Feel free to comment!

Simon - '04 Pastel Ghost Male

Simon was my first corn, I got him when he was a hatchling on valentines day of 2004. He was my first, and still my fave. He is also the cornerstone of my breeding project. He's a beast, eating small rats.

Simone - '04 Ghost Stripe Female

Simone is my crowning jewel. I've only had her for roughly two months now, but she's a sweety! I bought her from a fellow board member, Kathy McCullough (insomniac101). She's massive too, even bigger than Simon. She's got eggs due around 6/20.

Gina - '04 Miami Female

This hottie I bought back in '06 at the Columbia, SC repticon show. She's a bit on the smaller side, as I heard a lot of miami's are, but she puts out! She layed 13 eggs for me last year with 2 slugs, and layed 11 eggs this year with no slugs. Her babies are due to hatch sometime around 7/21. Conan (below) is her son, the only holdback I had last year. I really hate to do it, but she is going to be up for sale in about 2 more weeks. A miami just doesnt fit into a ghost stripe project.

Molly - '05 Hypo Motley

I bought this girl as a hatchling at a Greenville, SC reptile show back in October of '05. She was a little slow to start eating, but she caught on, and hasnt let up since. Her growth rate has been extremely slow, and she looks more like a 2 y/o rather than a 3y/o. I wont be able to breed her until next year, but she will be worth the wait.

Conan - '07 Normal het. anery and hypo

Conan was named after "Conan the destroyer". Ever since he hatched, he has been relentless and unforgiving to any food item that has been unfortunate enough to come into contact with him. His dad is Simon, and his mom is Gina. He's bad ass for a normal, and to me, has a bit of an okatee look to him, with his wide black bands. He's growing like a weed, he's already half the size of Molly! I dont think I'm powerfeeding, he's only eating two hoppers a week.

Chunk - '08 Caramel

Chunk is a special snake. He was at a local big box pet store and wasnt eating. This store has a policy of feeding frozen only, and wouldnt consider live as an option. I made a thread about him, and you guys told me to harden my heart and pass on him. I tried to do that, but I simply couldn't. I bought him anyway, at a discounted price of course. Needless to say, he ate a live pink ON THE WAY HOME. Then, two days later, he ate two more. Last night, he took a mondo dump. No regurge! Im so proud of him. Anyhow, they didnt know what morph he was, but I'm 90% sure he's a Caramel. He looks anery, but all of his saddells are a reddish chocolate brown. I really didnt want to mess with anery C, since Im concentrating on Anery A with my ghost project, but who knows, maybe one day I will start an Amber Project. What do you guys think, does he look like a Caramel to you?

Thanks for looking!

They are all very nice - love your Miami!
In regards to the last one - I personally don't think he is a caramel, but rather a very nice normal.
Both of my caramels had an all-over brownish color when they were that size and if my memory serves me right, just about any caramel of that size I have seen at shows or online also had more of a brownish color throughout. I imagine if he was a caramel the yellow should be starting to come through by now as well.

Just as an example - this is my caramel girl Rio at about the same size as your guy:

This is an even older photo of her:

cool ya'll! I've never seen a normal as dark as he is. I was guessing caramel just because he was too dark (i thought) to be a normal, but with the brown, I thought maybe caramel, oh well... Still tho, he "rox mah sox", I cant wait to see what he looks like all grown up! btw arpeggio, your caramel Rio is awesome!

I know what you mean...
We had a clutch hatch here last year that we thought the babies might be anerys because they were all so dark. Even after their first shed they seemed to dark to be normals...
After a few additional sheds we were confident that they were normals, but one female in particular has just retained an incredibly dark overall coloration. I cannot wait to watch her as she develops.

Thanks for the compliment on Rio. She stayed so brown for so long I almost wondered if she had been labeled wrong. She is finally really starting to show the caramel coloration though - I need to update photos of her.

Really great collection you've got! I'd have to say Simone is my favorite, she's just amazing; but they are all really nice!!
