My first pippies! (crested geckos)

Tavia

Elemental Exotics
Cairo's two oldest eggs decided to pip within a few minutes of each other. They still have not emerged completely, that could take up to a few hours longer, I guess.
But here are some pipping pics. Introducing Arco.

And sibling Arimo, who pipped later & has adorable face markings

Sorry for the picture quality, the lighting is really bad here & I didn't want to disturb them too much.

And here are them both out of the egg, can't wait to see what they look like after they shed.

Arimo, looks like a (possible Extreme) Harly.

Then Arco, looks maybe like a patternless or bi-color and it already has quite a few dalmatian spots.

OH TAVIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are so freaking CUTE! Look at that smile and curious look on the bottom one's face...Too Cute Is Right!!! And such ginormous heads from those little eggs...LOL

Well Done! I know you're ecstatic.

LOL! After I showed my parents the babies in their Kritter Keeper and then the empty eggs, they kept wondering how in the world they fit in there. I always think that about recently hatched snakes too.

Oooh! They are so cute! I've never seen them at this age. They are all head, and how did all that baby lizard fit into such a tiny egg?!

Here are a few more pics of them. Arco actually has a lot of pattern on the face and head too, it's just more subtle than Arimo's. They get prettier every time I look at them!
Arco.

All together now.

Congrats on the pippies!!

We have found that our brand new cresties tend to like crickets a lot better than crested gecko diet. Our hatchlings are about a year old now and just starting to eat the CGD. Up until now they've been eating crickets almost exclusively.

Not yet. The next ones won't until probably around the 20th of Dec. Then I've got one other clutch from her that was laid on the 15th of this month. That one was her 4th clutch of the season, though I only have her last 3 clutches. They lay a clutch of 2 eggs every 25 to 40 days during the season. Cairo has been a mostly clock work layer every 30 days but this last clutch was 5 days late, so she might be stopping. She didn't want to start laying this year & was about 2 months behind all the other females the breeder who owned her before had. Cairo is the only one laying right now, though my male & other female just got up to breeding weight. I haven't decided yet whether I will breed those two next year or not. I'm not going to breed Cairo next year for sure though, since I want to be absolutely sure who the sire of any eggs is.

Thanks, OkeeteeMom! They are doing very well. They are eating great, seem to actually like the CGD. They just changed the formula for it, added more animal protein for one thing and everyone seems to like it better than the old stuff.

Right on time! Had one of the second clutch hatch a bit ago. It was fully emerged when I checked on the eggs a few minutes ago, so no pipping pics this time. I sure hope the other one hatches tonight as well!
This one looks like a twin to Arco without as many spots.
Going to be named either Blaine or Bannock, depending on which seems to fit them both best.

Again, sorry for the pic quality. The lighting is bad and this one is a jumpy little guy.
