Do they still look beautiful to you, or are they just the snakes at work?
They're so pretty, love their heads.

That is so cool! I love Copperheads. I love their colors!

Just out of curiosity, what kind of research do you do with them?

I'm not sure which subspecies they are, they are all wild caught, sounds bad but the alternative was decapitation. I do like them, and I amazed Daenerys this week when I identified that two of the snakes had been switched, by memorizing their individual patterns and colorations, as well as personalities ^_^

That sounds really cool! I hope you keep us updated on the project! That seems really fascinating. :)

If I ever go as far as hot's, these are them... I know, I know, the hypo's are not normally found but dayum!

Can you tell us more about their venom and what the risks are of being bit by one of these lovely's?

Regards.. Tim of T and J

Their venom is a mild hemotoxin with no neurotoxins present. A healthy adult has no chance of dying without anti-venom, but you could lose a finger. All in all, if I get bit, I want to hold off on the anti-venom, but will request some morphine.

I guess as long as we don't have a bad reaction, we might be Ok.. It would be my luck, I would have some serious allergic reaction after getting tagged.. On a rack, I certainly would not want these at eye level eithier... Can't imagine getting tagged between the eyes being any sort of fun.. I wish morphine worked for me, I seem to be rather non affected by it.. Now gimme a little demerol and I will be a drooling goon.. I can't really imagine you would be free handing them ..

At this point, I would not think about getting any, as my kids are more of a concern than anything.. I still have about 8 more years before my youngest is an adult..

Brandon has like 3 snake hooks and those kevlar bite-proof gloves....no way he will be touching them bare handed lol.

You don't handle them like pets.

Which would be nutty... There is some great responsiblity to with owning hots, and there is a touch of insainity mixed in for fun..

Ya, I would like to own some moderate sized vipers, like when our research is done, I'm putting in my name to take the snakes home.
