My snake escaped

Found some and still looking for some. It is really a coin flip if you will find it. The best thing to do is look in areas where it is warm. A exterminator once told me to catch a loose snake or wild snake in a house, place a heat pad on the floor in a corner and they will go to it to get warm.
Good Luck!!!

what's your cage like? maybe you should look at a way to make the cage more escape-proof, or maybe if it won't work get a stronger one.

Zilla criter cages with the latchable sliding screen tops are fantastic, especially as its lockable. One of those, plus a lock and clips, and the snake should not be able to escape

he got out again :( but i found him :) but i dont kno how he is getting out so im on patrol im doing an all nighter watching him i have taken the hides and waterbowl out i have an exo-terra viv 30cm x 30cm he is 10 weeks old now but is a rite rebel itd very annoying though

yeah i think there is something wrong with the viv the guy at the pet shop i just rang said they can only escape from the top where these holes are but i closed them over with these locks tht slide across i jsut cant see how he is escaping im locked everything its an exo-terra one

so far i have quarentined the house the dogs are outside and the kitchen door is shut its not in the lounge or in my mum and dads room or my room i just have the bathroom and my sisters room (she has a hamster) but i still dont kno how he escaped its a mystery

At that age they can fit through the smallest of gaps, i would suggest getting an Plastic Terrarium. Exo Terra do them for about £10, they have a sealed lid on them no way for snakes to get out. This is what i did with mine when i first got him as he kept escaping. Then once he gets bigger after about 6 months or even a year upgrade him back to the glass viv.

I know it seems a bit of a waste of a viv getting a second one but it does stop the escape attempts. An if it does look sad having a empty one, get a three year old corn for it that wont fit through the gaps :)

oh, man...sorry to hear that yr snake keeps getting away. I've never had any of mine escape from their cages before. Well, actually only one time with my oldest corn snake Diamond...I accidentally left the lid half way open and he/she escaped but I found him/her in like a half hour 45 min or so because I knew where to look. I was extremely upset though cause even though I knew where abouts Diamond might have been I was still very worried that I wouldn't find her/him. I did though I found her/him in a tuper ware type drawer container right by the shelf the viv was sitting on top of. She was in the top draw. Other then that I've never had mine escape me. Good luck in finding yrs and hopefully if you do you can keep him from escaping again. I'd put extra weight on top of the screen lid along with the locks to keep him from getting out or get a new viv with new screen lid. I actually do not have locks on 3 our of 4 of my vivs just because I have not been able to find any locks that fit on the viv/screen lids. I have been to all the pet stores here in town with no luck. The only one that I have sliding locks on is Diamonds. The pet store that had the right kind of locks does not carry them anymore. So what I do is put a lot of heavy books/folders on top to keep them from getting out. It's worked for me so far. Again look everywhere you can think of a snake might go to keep warm. Also try putting a mouse out somewhere in the room so he can come eat it.

have you checked under his cage? near the heat. i know it seems like a dumb question but i have found a buddies lost hacthling jungle under his boas cage near the heat. barely enough room for him to get under but he did. i have never had an escape but have helped people look. at this point i suggest that you are either to inexperienced to keep a hatchling and would suggest you take it back for the animals safety and maybe get a pet rock so it doesnt escape 3 times in a week.

on a more serious note. get a critter keep or something that is more easier to keep a snake secure in. its gonna come down to something bad if he keeps getting out like this.

oh yeah really thanks

My mate has a corn snake the same age as mine from the same pet shop 2 days after i got mine he has locked everything like i have but my viv must have a fault or sumthing that lets him escape through the door
