and that's one groovy looking earring. :)

I liked all of the pics. I would have gone in mid august because the world herp breeders expo is going on then.

Thanks everyone! I actually lived in Florida as a child and used to wear lizards around like earrings all the time. I was telling my kids about it and they didn't believe me...so I had to catch one and prove it on my trip! Anyway, as far as the turtle/tortoise thing....yeah, I had no idea. lol :)

That's so funny, I was just about to say that my son now 13 used to do that with the lizards when he was about 5 or 6 lol... I live in Florida and those lizards are everywhere in our yard lol, I would say prolly 100 or more lol. There is a huge one in the backyard, I've never seen one this big before, we call him grandpa lol... it looks almost like a iguana it's so big.

Beautiful pics, yes that's a gopher tortoise sp?, I love our wildlife here. When I go fishing, we usually see alligators, raccoons, those gopher tortoises, birds of all kinds, bald eagles, Osprays, Herrings, snakes, lizards. We have a wild life refuge down the street here in Titusville. It's beautiful, that's where we go red fish and trout fishing alot. It's kindof brackish water, (salt and fresh water combined).

As you can tell, I love the wild life too lol...

Lil. :)

Looks like you had fun!

The aquatic turtle with the red side bands is a Florida red belly. I always thought they were very pretty, although I am not really much into aquatic turtles.

Glad you enjoyed our Florida sunshine and herps, even the non-native ones! Your cute little lizard earing is an anole (Cuban anole, I believe). They are easy to catch, unless you really need to catch one to scent pinkies with. Then you have a hard time even finding one!
