My What the Fff Is Better Than Yours!!

I didn't realize you had this streak of cruelty, Nanci. I'm calculating how many babies I can keep when my clutches hatch, how many '09s I'm going to buy from other people, and searching for a mate for my female-who's-a-male first cornsnake love. I can't add a beardie to the household now. But your thread sure makes it look like they're a lot of fun.....

Nanci, in response to the question you asked me, my response is: "Holy cr*p, no, Jolie has *never* done that!!!" Then again, I guess I should add "yet" because who knows what the future may hold, as proven by Lady Isabel! Oy, vey! What an ordeal! I'm glad that she's doing well, though!

Guess what time it is!! Time for more slugs!!! Isabel hasn't had much of an appetite for the last week. I've been palpating her and feeling nothing. Today as I was leaving for the Tampa show, she started clawing at her slate floor, so I popped her in the lay box (garbage can with peat/sand mix) for the day. Here are the results:

That's right, 22 slugs. Luckily, I'd bought a new box of superworms, and Isabel had a nice big dinner. Then I put her to soak in a warm bath, and scrubbed her undercarriage with the electric toothbrush, and syringed a couple tablespoons of chicken baby food/ Jumpstart into her. She is now down to 420 grams. She was 455 pre-slug laying. So I figure she's about 300g underweight. I am seriously going to keep up with the supplemental feedings no matter how well she does with her worms.

Three. Lisa (DogsNDragons) talked to a vet today, who suggested breaking the cycle by brumating her. Yeah, right. I consider myself lucky to get the house temp down to 82F during the day.
