That's "lin-NAY-ah"
MY DH is a bicyclist, and being here in SC, I keep hoping that he'll find something other than black snakes to report to me. Well, imagine my excitement when he got back this morning and said, "You want to go see a snake I saw up on Frontage Road? It's got some yellow on it." So I grabbed the camera and we jumped in the van. We got to the place on the road, and there it was lying on the side. I immediately pulled over, threw it in park, and quickly walked up to where it was lying. This is what I found:

It didn't take but a few moments for my brain to register what I was seeing, although I couldn't believe it. Yes, it's true...

A RUBBER SNAKE. Because Roland was riding by so fast, he didn't have a clue what he saw, only that it was a "yellow snake". What it was doing there on a rural road, we'll never know. And the fact it had been run over was obvious. Sigh...maybe someday I'll find the elusive SC wild corn, but not today. Yes, I am keeping it.
