Neighbor finds lost corn snake

So my first corn snake(butter corn) was lost 5 months ago at my house and today he showed up. Here is the funny part my neighbor found him outside and posted a picture to facebook. thought this snake got in with my bearded dragons and was eatin. I had no clue he would be able to get outside.

When I seen the post I jumped out of bed and went outside to see if he still had it he released back outdoors after playing with it for a good hour.

I have a question? I live in Pa and when he got lost it was 10 degrees outside. How did he survive and grow to be so big within the last months? what did he eat? whats the chances of him having a parasite or bacteria. If I do find him is it ok to quarantine him in a separate room from my other animals until he is vet checked?

He most likely was in your house until temps became better outside and then found his way out there. Most likely eating the mice/rat pinkies nature intended. Yes, if you find him, keep him guaranteed and maybe have a vet do a fecal sample. Good luck with your hunt!

I'll definitely be looking every night I'msurprised at how big he was. Since Ii live in the city and houses are pretty close together i don't know what he was eating.

They will also eat baby birds and the rodent family includes rats, mice, squirrels, rabbits, voles, chipmunks etc... there is plenty to eat

Well I guess until I find him I wont have a big small mammal population around. Although I have found a groundhog living under my porch and a skunk that comes out every night. I just hope I do find him by winter and he doesn't die out there. Btw is there anyway he will attempt to breed with any of the rat snakes that live in PA.

Him finding food wouldn't worry me, it's him being food that would. A butter is really going to stand out in the wild. Raccoons, skunks, and so forth will make a quick meal of him. I really hope you find him soon.

Exactly what I was thinking. Best of luck, too bad you got the message too late! I am sending you good luck wishes for a happy ending.

I would definitely be doing a postering campaign. Make sure all the neighbours have seen a photo of him, so if they find him they'll know he's yours. It wouldn't hurt to post online too, if you have any lost & found pet groups on Facebook in your area. Our local lost dog group will post birds and other pets and they have a great return rate!

I really hope you find him
If I was in your shoes I would feel the same way
Mine just turned a year
I pray that you find him
Hope he stay out of sight till he is hungry outside for you
Maybe he will surprise you and be in your house somewhere

Still no luck on my search. I have a feeling he is still living under mine or my neighbors porch. My neighbor says he borrows under there which makes me feel a little better bcuz I know there is good sized rocks and hides under there for him to stay safe.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a trap I was going to try a Pepsi bottle with a mouse in it and hope he is to fat to get out.

I would try to use a clean milk jug cut a circle just above the handle all the way around the jug put a mouse in it invert the part you cut off neck of bottle should be inside and tape it together that way if snake is inside you can untapped it to get him out
I would use severs around where you think he might be and check on them
Also shake baby powder around the doorways if he is in the house you will see a disturbance I would be afraid of a Pepsi bottle he could get hurt going in
Hope this helps you
I feel bad for you
