New adult Butter

Better a thin active snake that eats well than an overfed one. JMHO I'd stick to the one mouse/week, but maybe throw an extra one in every other week or three. Or step up to jumbo's, or try weaned rats. He could still be a three year old; Bred "a couple times" could mean twice. Nice pickup, Cooper :)

Somebody better cough up a picture!!

I need to take a better one....

Congrats on the butter! I am glad you got him. I know your son had to be bouncing off the walls when you told him the butter was commin' home. Now for the hard part.... the 3 day wait....

Beautiful snake.. He goes great with your son! :D

And Popcorn is an awesome name! :)
"Popcorn" was yesterdays name... today, it's "Butter" (Cooper has a gift for original names... the pickup truck was "truckie" for example - I'm just happy he didn't name it 'snakie').

Cooper is very happy. It's all I can do to keep him from pestering him constantly.

The 'three day rule' is out the window, though. Butter was out briefly for another picture or two early and the only way I could get cooper to leave him alone for a couple of days was to agree to feed him later today. He sure is a laid back snake, though.

This morning, he sucked in his belly so much that it was concave by a good half-inch and an organ was clearly outlined! Of course I didn't get a picture of that.

Butter(d) Popcorn has become the most photographed creature in the house already...

More or less stretched out on the couch:

Here's the happy owner actually smiling, while Butter is making another lap:

And a Monitor-damaging shot of Butter with me in it (bed-head and all - he dragged me out of bed this morning to hold Butter):

I still can't help but wonder if he's thin... in the last picture of him with cooper, you can clearly see his spine prominently. In the picture with me, you can see his 'cross section' is triangular, not like a loaf of bread.

I don't want to stuff him like a piggy, but if he needs to be 'filled out' a little, I'd like to do that.

Thanks, J9; you're very charitable. :)

Oh, I remember the name of the seller... Reptile Kingdom out of Tom's River, NJ. Anyone know anything about them, G or B?

He looks maybe a little lean, but that's better (IMO) than the stuffed sausage look my big boys are heading towards, which is why I'm putting them on 14-day feedings. Maybe just see how he is after a month or so of weekly feeds?

I think he could fill out a little bit. Remember that thread about the jumbo mice, though? In it, I have pics of Maizey before he started regurging, and now afterwards, where he's eating less calories. I honestly think he looks healthier now. And I think my Lila looks like a little blimp- she needs more exercise.

I almost bought an amel stripe from them instead I bought Nagini.
They're resalers. The adress on the card is a PO box right?

It's at home, but I think so.

Yeah, I certainly don't want him to look stuffed. Just a little bulkier. Yeah, I'll feed weekly (need to get better mice from TMF, though) and see how he progresses. I'll flop him on the scale twice a month.

Yeah that's probally them, because the havre de grace show was a MD farms show as well and if there are any other big breeders in my area I would know about it (I go to school and work in toms river) and I remember being suprised that I had never heard of them before being that their adress was RIGHT across from the petco where I worked at the time, only to turn out to be a PO box at the UPS store.
