New Baby Ball Python

That makes sense. Thanks. I know he isn't afraid I guess it's just me and I need to get over it. I will not even think of it anymore. If she doesn't let go on her own I have heard of alcohol in their snout. Is this true? Vodka not rubbing? Lol!! I don't want her to get drunk and make more poor decisions.

I usually just wait till they let go.. But I've never been bit by my ball. He but my ex roommate once when he was a baby lol. 90% of the bites I've gotten are defensive or they think it's food. Usually with a defensive bite it is a quick strike and release, and feeding is a slow, sniffing, then opening the mouth and trying to eat. Only one bite I got doesn't fit that, it was defensive and he didn't let go, but instead tried pulling my hand away with him. After a few minutes I got up to walk to the sink to fill it up and hold his head under cool water but he let go when I stood up. Snake bites really are not that bad.. They bleed a lot but baby balls and adults corns don't do a lot of damage. If he bitess your daughter there will be a few tears and a band aid, but nothing to worry about, just a learning experience and move on.

I cannot keep the temp up in the tank. Since my UTH is on the side how do I measure the temp? Do I just need to get another one for under the tank? How is this going to harm Bella? The humidity is fine. Freaking out now. A bit frustrated. The weather outside is like 36 and my heater is on.

Why is the UTH on the side in the first place?? It needs to be on the bottom, attached to a thermostat at 90 degrees, and measured with a digital thermometer with a probe.

^^^^^^ What she said. You're heating the snake, not the air. I _know_ it says on the package to install it on the side. That doesn't work.

Ok so I will move it. Why would they say to do that? Very frustrating. I have a digital probe thermometer. I will just go and move it then. :)
