I usually just wait till they let go.. But I've never been bit by my ball. He but my ex roommate once when he was a baby lol. 90% of the bites I've gotten are defensive or they think it's food. Usually with a defensive bite it is a quick strike and release, and feeding is a slow, sniffing, then opening the mouth and trying to eat. Only one bite I got doesn't fit that, it was defensive and he didn't let go, but instead tried pulling my hand away with him. After a few minutes I got up to walk to the sink to fill it up and hold his head under cool water but he let go when I stood up. Snake bites really are not that bad.. They bleed a lot but baby balls and adults corns don't do a lot of damage. If he bitess your daughter there will be a few tears and a band aid, but nothing to worry about, just a learning experience and move on.
