I didn't have much to spend, but I was so sick of my little 3.1 MP piece o' crap I decided to at least get a nicer point and shoot with a macro mode. So it didn't instantly make me a better photographer but I am already liking my new sony cybershot DSC-S700 a lot! Test subjects were a pair of Huddleston keys miamis, and a very shy crimson boy from serpenco. Comments & advice welcome!

Yes much better, nice to be able to have the head patterns come out in focus. This is long overdue :dancer:
I want to rephotograph my whole collection now and do the ACR pictures over.
I just can't stop taking pics of the female miami lol... the normal is one of my favorite keepers, Zpade. I like her head markings.

One thing I'm having a hard time getting the hang of is the way it focuses first, then snaps the picture. There is no taking a quick shot, unless I put it in 'burst' mode. And the lighting options I also still need to mess around with.

These are a million times better! One wee tip, if you are able to, turn down your flash intesnsity. Your pictures will be far less overexposed (depending on the room lighting).
 
Yeah, got to get out the owner's manual and see how to do that lol. Basically the button that controls flash, it's on, auto, off, or a little delay between the flash and photo, which seems to come out best. I had the EV turned down as far as I could, maybe I need to play around with the different settings such as portrait, seaside, snow etc? 'Twilight Portrait'... hmmm
