Hey everyone! Finally get to do my intro.

I'm Melody, born & raised in south Florida. I currently own 20 reptiles, 3 of which are corn snakes. I have one adult male amel, Sunny Tequila, and two yearling females, a motley snow named Voodoo Tiki and an albino/creamsicle (?) named Margarita. I have had Sunny for 4-5 years and the two girls are pretty new, Tiki has been with me about 3 weeks and Margarita only since this past Saturday.

Some of my other reptiles include 9 ball pythons, 2 columbian red tail boas, Brazilian rainbow boa, 2 bearded dragons, 2 leopard geckos and a blue tongue skink. I also have 3 dogs and 2 cats to round off the zoo.

Some pics of the corns:

This is the newest girl, Margarita. She was sold to me as a plain "albino" - but she's all orange. She doesn't have a faded orange look to her, like creamsicles, but I'm thinking she may have some emoryi blood. Any comments on that?

My buddy, Sunny Tequila. He doesn't look so big in these shots, but he's easily 3.5-4' long.

His home, the girls are in a rack until they get larger, and then will be bumped up to their own 30g breeder tanks also.

And a baby picture, just for fun!

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! I live in Florida as well, in Tallahassee. Gorgeous snakes! You should post pics of your other critters in the general chit chat forum. Many people here have more than just corns ;)

Hi Melody! Those are awesome pics! I really like your display tank. Looks very natural and cozy. How long have you been keeping reptiles?

Your blue "snowflake" blanket is exactly like my 5 y.o.'s. He's actually sleeping with it right now. Obviously it makes me like your "blankie" pics the best! :D

Welcome to cs.com. :wavey:

Welcome Melody!
You will find there are quite a few of us Floridians on this site. We get together at a lot of the shows and for other outings like the Serpentarium and Gator Land.

Where abouts in Florida are you located. My roommate and I are near St Pete.

Welcome! I'm also from South Florida and love it here :)

Those are some great looking corns and hybrids youve got there.. I almost picked up an 'orange crush' corn at a small reptile show in Ft.Laud, but left with only a small motley boy (no complaints there!). I look forward to seeing more pics of your bunch!

Thanks everyone for the welcome! I have been keeping reptiles as personal pets for years. I was raised in a reptile-loving house hold, so I can't remember ever not having one in the house. They are a love and passion of mine. I love them all dearly. :)

I am in the West Palm Beach area. I am totally up for some outings, anytime! Just let me know. I can't wait for Spring to really get in gear, I'm excited to start "field herping" - will be new to me this year. Anyone do it?

I will be doing research partly with herps this summer near Avon Park. I am looking for predators of an endangered sparrow so am putting up a ton of snake coverboards and flipping them every couple days or so. I am hoping for an indigo! :p

Welcome to the forum! What beautiful snakes you have. I am not sure about the emoryi in that first pic, so I will leave that alone. I really like the set ups you have. I also like the name of your motley snow because my Granite shares the same name.

Gorgeous snakes!

Some of my other pets:

Male mojave ball python, Mojo (I know I know...originality isn't my thing):

His sister, Copper. She in shed in this picture, she's a wicked shade of bright orange usually:

Spider female, Arana (again with the lack of originality)

Female pastel, Gembi. She's a slow grower. Only 160 g at 9 months old. Copper & Mojo are only about 4 months old now, and almost her size! But, she's pretty.

Male bearded dragon, Orin, fired up:

New girl, Sierra, just woke up. I get the stink eye from my dragons too...

More to come...

You have some gorgous reptiles! I love all your snakes and your beardies are beautiful! I can't wait to see your other pet pics :0) Your in a prime location for this forum..lol...There are a lot of Florida members on here and all of them seem to know one another very well :0)

WOW. Nice pics. Welcome to the forum, Melody. Obviously looks like you would be a non-newbie, or anti-newbie, to the reptile world.

Those are some real beauties! I especially love those beardies!

I am from the Ft. Myers area. If you are ever over to this side of Hwy. 80 on the first Thur. of the month, stop by our Calusa Herp Society meeting! (www.calusaherp.org).

Also, check out the thread (below) on the Daytona Expo get together we are having. It is not that far from you - hope to see you there in August!

Ahh...Daytona. I absolutely LOVE that weekend! Been looking forward to it since last year! That herp society sounds very interesting! I have actually been trying to find the time to possibly put one together for this area. But...between work full time, college, dog training part time, running a non-profit dog rescue - "time" is something I have very little of these days. lol

Perhaps this summer I can get around to it. Need to get in touch with some other "herpers" in the area to get some ideas.

You wouldn't happen to be the famous "Kathy Love" - would ya? If so, it's an honor! :)

Welcome Melody,

Beautiful animals!! Good names too, almost have a theme going with the CS names. The viv n the pic is really nice. I love that log looking hide in the middle.

I am a transplant from Florida. Lived in the north Miami area most of my life until moving to New Mexico. Lived near lake Okeechobee for a while, still have family there. Great place for herping.

Have fun and enjoy the forum.
Jimmy

Welcome! I'm way up in Alachua. Yes, that is THE Kathy Love and we get to see her all the time!!! I hope you can go to Daytona!
