Hello

I was searching corn snake life expectancy when I cam across this site and though I'd register. I've got two corn snakes. One is a part albino and he is about 3 years old. My other snake, Tequila, is a standard looking corn that I got in a pet shop in New York on January 11th 1986. She had already graduated from eating hoppers to eating small mice so she has to be about 23 and a half years old. She has been blind for the past ten years and she is still active and healthy.

Welcome Paul.

I also have an old-timer who will be a mere 21 this summer. He's had cataracts for a while now, but as with your pensioner, it doesn't seem to bother him at all. In fact judging by the recent increase in shuffling about in his viv, he's already starting to feel the "joys of spring"!

oh wow, that snake is older than more than a few members here!
I'd love to see pictures of the old guy, and welcome.

Welcome to the forum, Paul. That is one venerable, august, grande dame. I could only hope that my little worms live so long.

I've got a black and white cal-king that's about 20, and he gets along just fine. His eyes still are visibly clear, but i don't think he sees that well anymore.
It doesn't seem to affect him in the slightest. I have a rubber boa that was hoping will set some sort of record in longevity, but Richard Hoyer has documented rubber boas over 50 in the wild.

Hello Paul

Wow, that must be the oldest recorded corn in captivity.
I take my hat off to you, this is proof of the love, devotion and commitment you have in the care of your reptiles. You are an example to all of us, congrats.

Ciao

I swear the oldest captive corn i read about was 24 that might even be the record and your well on your way thats awesome. Mines only 4 months at the moment but it will definately be a worth while investment (not that it hasn't already been) if he lives to such an epic age.

And yes your corn is older than me haha I am but a mere 20 years old.
