Hello everyone. My husband and I are new to corn snakes, but not new to being reptile owners. We currently have a 9 month old female veiled chameleon and a 4 month old bearded dragon. I have been working on our corn snake enclosure for about two weeks now and can happily say I finished it. Yesterday our cute snow corn snake arrived yesterday and he is very small and cute. I purchased him for my husbands valentine's day present. I have yet to pick out a name for the little guy. I worked on his temps for 2 days to make sure all would be well. He is acclimating at this time. He is snuggled nicely in his warm hide. I am very happy to be a part of this forum. I can't wait to get to know other corn owners as well.

I love your enclosure and your snake is super cute! Do you know how old he/she is?
 
Thank you very much. I was told he is around 4 months old. I am no good at estimating reptile ages. All my life I was scared of spiders and snakes. I love my other reptiles dearly and I figured it was time to get over one of my fears. It was a very happy and exciting moment when I held him for the first time. My heart was going so fast. I didn't want to hurt him and I really didn't want my first experiance to me getting bit. I gently picked him by the middle of his body and cupped underneath him with my other hand. After the initial pick up I was at ease. It felt very strange feeling him slither through my fingers and so cold to the touch. I have a feeling that I will just fall in love with this little guy.

His enclosure is between a 30 and 40 gallon exo terra on its side. I altered it to have the doors open from the top. The doors have a twist lock, so I know he won't be able to get out. I created his hides and plant vine. I also painted the water bowl to blend in with everything. I just couldn't picture hides that said all natural butter. hehe.

He still in his warm hide from last night and I am watching the humidity/temps like a hawk. My husband will finally be home Sunday morning from overseas. We cannot wait for his return. We will be able to celebrate Valentines this week coming. :)

I got my little man at 4 months too, and he's almost trippled in size now at 7 months! its amazing to watch. :eek:

and I think he should be called Cupid, or Valentine. (if your husband supports it of course! ;))
seems like they would be cute fitting names for the little pink Guy!!

and Congrats on conquering your fear of snakes!!! :D corn snakes are great for that, especially when its a baby, their just too darn cute too be scared of.. and they arnt really biters either, so there a great starter snake.

Hello and welcome. Cute snake. Interesting idea of turning the exo terra on its back. I have one, used the normal way, and like it quite a bit. If it's the kind with the fake rock background, just be aware that there are gaps at the base of the foam background, which my girl used to squeeze through to sneak behind the background and hide.
 
I removed the foam background and placed it in my chameleons cage for her background. I even painted it.Thank you for the heads up though. :)

I LOVE how you painted the foam background, that's a first I've seen someone being so creative.

Your setup looks great. Congrats on your corn. I've had mine just over a month now, you'll have lots of fun
