I have to say I envy all of you that get to go to the Daytona show! I doubt I will ever make one, but if I do, I will feel like I am in Heaven! ;) I wish you all safe trips and a good time!!! Take care, LindsayMarie

Really, you're just getting the first rain band of the trailing edge!

I put evacuation containers by all my animal cages, and emergency numbers on the fridge; hopefully if needed, whoever gets called can buck up and get the snakes out.
 
Knocked down a bunch of trees in my neighborhood. No power since yesterday evening, they just got it back on. I went around this morning in the jeep and there were trees and power lines down everywhere. JEA does a great job getting this stuff back up quickly.
 
I'm here! And I already herped! I caught two hatchling anoles for Robbie's hatchling corn runt. And his gorgeous boa baby tried to eat my face...The freaking Hilton charges $995/24 hours for Internet!! And I forgot my power cord...Weather was cruddy driving down. It's raining intermittantly here.

I hope you mean $9.95 and not $995. That would be quite outrageous! But it's nice to see you here, and I'm glad you made it safely!

So far I've just seen Katie and Robbie. Joe had to take a nap.

I took pictures out of my balcony, but my card reader wouldn't connect...There are a ton of people out on the beach. There is a pretty strong wind with big gusts. A few surfers. I have the patio door wide open- that surf sounds so cool!!! There are a bunch of kamikaze blackbirds flying around at top speed, seemingly just for the fun of it. You know what I like about the Hilton? When you call anyone for anything, they say "How may I help you, Miss Nanci?" The South is so polite...And they brought dessert and a bottle of chilled water with my delicious pizza. I think I may have seen Chewy from Snake Bytes TV!!
 
Man, can't believe I've let ANOTHER YEAR pass, with out making it to Daytona ! And since my wife and I are expecting our second child around the middle of Sept, it may be SEVERAL years befor I get down there.

Anyway, hope everyone has a safe trip, and a good time down there.

ps: Lynnea, don't buy TOO MANY snakes. Roland might loose his mind.:laugh:

Yeah, he's still just sitting there with a smug look on his face! haha. The runt still hasn't eaten, but we did find what appears to be an anole egg (but we're not really sure) that we're gonna try and hatch out. See you in the AM!
