Anyway, my question is, besides English, what languages do you speak? I have a list of about 25-30 languages I want to learn. I'm hoping maybe everyone will be really cool and we can give each other basic lessons here.

I speak English most of the time. About 30% of the time, I just drool and babble. Lol.

Note: Languages from Title to where I start talking - French, Italian, Arabic, Hungarian, Thai. I pulled these translations off of Google Translate so if they are wrong, blame Google. Lol. Also they all say "Do you speak (whichever language)?"

yo hablo español!!! Im fully bilingual read, write, translate and speak both english and spanish....also i can speak and understand some Portuguese.

Je parle francais, un peu, mais un peu je paelre tres tres bian.

That roughly translates to I speak a little french but the little french I do speak I speak very very well.

I took french for 3 years in hs and really don't remember much except for the jokes we made during class like J'adore frommage which means I love cheese. Funny thing is I don't even remember what the jokes were about.

Belgians have the name of speaking much languages. Don't know wether that's true though :)
My own language is dutch (well, the belgian variety anyway :)), I speak reasonably french, but not very fluent (meaning I have to search for words often). French is the second land language so we learn it in school.
My english isn't too bad I guess :)
And a little bit of german is there, again not fluent, but most of the time I get my point across.

I try, especially for holidays, to get the basics, so I can manage a little French, Spanish and got some basic Greek a few years ago. Just 'Hello, please, thankyou' and so on, but I really would love to go to Spanish lessons to improve my range.
My planned holiday is in Portugal, but run by a German couple with 99% german guests, so I'll need to brush up my German. I worked there for a while 20-so years ago, so should pick up some German by the time I go.
I love trying to speak other languages, although most Europeans speak such fluent English I've found a real appreciation of my efforts and much laughter as I stumble along!

Sprechen sie Deutsch?
I took 5 years of German in high school and was fairly fluent both writing and speaking it. But after over 15yrs out of school I have unfortunately lost most of it.

I can speak four languages. American English, TEXAS Redneck English, Oklahoma Redneck English, White Trash in most dialects.

P.S. my daughter can read and write latin. Good thing she has her mothers brains.

Dutch of course and English (very well), German to a level I could live there but not have conversations on politics or other subjects that are not 'house hold' related.

 You always crack me up, Fatman.

As for me, I don't speak anything fluently outside of English. Part of the Ontario curriculum is mandatory French language education in school. I started in Grade 4 and didn't have the option to opt out of French classes until Grade 10. Unfortunately, I never had any decent French teachers and I was too a-motivated to really learn the language.

I wish I could speak Texas Redneck!!

I've brushed up on my French recently, I'd cay "intermediate" again now!

I can still read Russian, but conversationally I would be lost, as I haven't studied in so long.
