Perfect Pinstripe Miamisss!

Nanci

Alien Lover
I've been trying for one for years. The first year, Zora slugged out when bred to El Wray. But I had very high infertility across the board that year. But I acquired another male who had a perfect pinstripe- El Pollo Loco. A wee hatchling, I had to wait two years for him to grow up. Finally, this year, he was ready to breed.

But more than half of the clutch went bad- one at a time, over the course of incubation, right up till hatching. I was beginning to lose hope that _any_ hatchlings would emerge.

I woke up at 3:45 AM this morning, for some reason, ran to the incubator, and found this!

Baby A, 9.9 grams, male. SOLD

Baby A has no break over the vent. Were it not for the jaggedness of the pinstripe towards the end and the lack of a defined lateral stripe, I'd think he was a tessera.

Congrats! You deserve it!

I think, on A, what look like notches into the central stripe, by the border, are actually the central stripe exceeding its margins and intruding into the border. I can't mag it up at work like I can at home.

Baby C, female x 1, 9.6 grams! SOLD

Baby D, female x 1, 8.5 grams. They are a lot less cooperative after they've had all day to themselves to get strong and brave!

This one is the silveriest so far! Likely a keeper...

It looks like this trait might be somewhat familial.

I'm pretty surprised by the results. I imagined some like Grandfather, maybe one like Grandmother, and a bunch of in-betweens.

OOH, I recognize Grandma!! She's at my house right now. She's definitely got some nice progeny. ;)

Between your okeetee hatelings and this pairing...

...I need to get back to a better paying job. :awcrap:
