Minnie isn't anything special, rare, or pretty- but garter snakes have a certain charm. They are smart, curious and more fun to watch then corns during the day. Here are some photos of Minnie I took over the holiday. Hope you enjoy! :)

Great pics! I like the color, our wild ones here are more green than brown.

I agree, they always act so alert. I really like these snakes, even when they musk you they seem nice about it.

Very pretty! Those are some really good pictures! The Petco has one here, if I had any room I'd rescue him in a heart beat! He seems to be alert & healthy, always comes out to look when I go there, but they are feeding him gold fish. "sigh"
Love the sirtilis pickeringi I have though.

Very pretty. I always thought these guys were neat when I caught them as a kid. I like the purple tinsel pics, too!

@Tavia -- Too bad you can't get the one at the Petco!

I've always had a soft spot for garters, since they are about the only snakes we regularly see here and are beautiful snakes Thanks for sharing yours with us.

As many bright and brilliant colors as there are available in snakes today, I must say, I absolutely love a rich brown contrast on any snake. Minnie is beautiful.

What a great background! I love the look of garters, they look so angry but are usually pretty mellow snakes.
