Pic From a Petshop

This was in a local herp shop that I just discovered in Anderson, Indiana...and was wondering what the heck it is??

I believe it was labeled Ivory Boa...?
Sorry, cell phone pic....

It was listed Not For Sale...the owner keeps his personal collection in the shop, so this must have been his...

wierd it's showing up on mine...give me just a minute...it from my sprint phone...which is being stupid...let me upload to photobucket real quick, my apologies....

Looks like a Candoia (spelling?). I believe that Tula Montage has some of those, so perhaps she can verify that.

I am finding some pics when I googled Candoia....and they kind of look similar, the closest thing I've seen anyways....that's apparently some kind of ground boa? I kind of thought that, due the pattern...it's kind of funky like a Dumerils...

It is a Candoia and looks like a Solomon Island Ground boa (Candoia carinata paulsoni). Buy it and send it to me lol, I've be searching for one. I have Waigeo Island tree boas which are Candoia Carinata carinata.

Yep, what Katie said! Very nice example of the species too! If she was for sale, I'd scoop her up without even thinking about it!

Candoia! Elle probably has more of those than most people, and is better at getting localities (which can be tricky, not a lot of info on these guys). I've never heard of them being refereed to as "ivory boas" before, that's a new one.

I have one, she is an absolute darling who is constantly freaked out and tries to bite me every time I check on her. <3

Thats an Isabel Isle ground boa (Candoia paulsoni paulsoni). I say Isabel Isle due to the selctivley bred colouration of the locale. They are generally stark black and white or pale cream and dark brown. But it's the monochrome colouration and contrast which defines them.

I have one, his name is Berlingo. But he turned orange recently LOL

Baby colouration!

Thank you Tula:D

It sure was a beauty...it was part of the owner's personal collection that he kept at his shop...or I'd have picked it up!
