Plasma Tessera?-nope,surprise Pewter Tessera!

lovin' my sweet corns
**I think** we hit our goal this year with our normal Tessera male and Plasma female!! :) This was a project 2 years in the making. We raised the male from a hatchling, the female was a yearling. She only let him lock with her once in May this year, laid 10 tiny eggs on Friday the 13th in June, and on 8/16 a healthy looking, non kinked, Plasma Tessera hatched! :) Not popping until after the first shed, but the tail looks male....This project was not without major disappointment though with all 3 'normal' Lavender Tesseras having various amount of kinking in the lower body :headbang: We will try the male with our lavender motley het hypo, snow, stripe next year to test for his possible hets and hopefully get some perfect, non kinked, lavender tesseras next year*fingers crossed*

Without further ado, here it is-so dark,I wonder how much the color will change:

Is lavender the only thing at play with this kid? It is so dark and the blue eyebrows and lack of contrast in the head pattern looks almost charcoalish. It is a good looking baby. Can't wait for updates.

Thanks! :) I thought the same thing, except for diffused there is nothing else to my knowledge.I have another 'normal' lavender that is dark like this as well with a blue tint to the head...as far as I know dad is not het charcoal, and if mom has any hets I wasn't told.

What a beauty! I think since you're keeping him, I wouldn't be doing any popping until he's an established feeder.

hmm...I was looking at these kids again.. the 'plasma' tessera really does look pewter :shrugs: ------ Nanci, was charcoal supposed to be a possible het with these kids? I know anery was a poss. het.. Mom was sold to me only as a plasma, but maybe she had hets... Here are some pics of the baby pile.. I am anxious for them to shed..

Very nice clutch Val !!

Not sure if this helps you any, but the one in question looks to be Charcoal to me as well. Hope you figure it out.
Actually, the snake at the very bottom of the last GROUP shot (in post #14) appears to be a Phantom as well.

so-this is Elvira, the mom...she was sold to me as a Plasma,no hets were listed-I have never seen another adult plasma in person, anyone who have one think there may be something else to her or is she typical for a Plasma? I never really questioned it before, but after this clutch I am :shrugs: Anyone who keeps or has had a Plasma, your input is much appreciated :)
