Portland Metro Reptile Expo

Has any ever attended this event before? I am planning to go this August. Last year, I went to the Anaheim reptile expo and it was awesome. There were so many breeders, stores, snakes, spiders, etc. Is the one in Portland going to be just as great?

I've never been to the Anaheim show, I've always wanted to go!! I'm guessing that the Portland Metro show is much smaller. Not that it's too small though, I just always had the impression that the Anaheim show was kind of a big deal.. Also, perhaps it's grown over there years, I haven't been since '08 at least. It just might not be huge compared to Anaheim.
Definitely some interesting stuff though, Expos are always great!! I'll make plans to be there!

I can post some pictures from a P-town Metro expo if you'd like :)

There is no way that the PDX expo up here is going to be as great as the one in Cali. The show brings tons of people and when I went in Jan. there was a continuous line waiting to get in. Here is the website http://www.pdxreptileexpo.com/index.html click the vendor list to see the vendors that have registered so far. There was about 4 vendors that were specifically corn snake breeders that I remember, and there was a variety of others as well. I enjoyed the show because it was the only one I have ever been to. I'm just thankful we have an expo here. Here are a few more links for you of a few more small shows in OR.

I mostly just have pictures of the animals.. not the whole show in general.

There's a great variety of stuff there, but GENERALLY I would still prefer to buy snakes from breeders on this site. Jenn from Ghost House Corns is usually there though, and I really like the snakes I saw You (K. Rene) post, so I have hope that our sect is growing! I havn't been to a show in a few years.

These are from... '07 I think?? Or '08

I wonder if the guy with awesome Hondos still goes..
He had some Pied Sides too, I might have pics of them. These are a little less spectacular, but still cool!

The PDX expo is pretty small. From what I've heard of Cali expos in general, it's not even comparable. Not worth a drive all the way up from California, but worth stopping by if you're going to be in the area, anyway.

Pretty sure the original poster is moving up here. And it's the best one of the few in Oregon. I'm thankful we even have one.

There are many of us that will be heading to the Portland Expo in August, and we are planning on a 'Cornsnake Lover' get together either before or after the expo- anyone and everyone is welcome to join us.

Also, if anyone is planning on being in this relative area this next month, don't forget the Emerald City Reptile Expo coming up soon!!! This one will most likely be rather large- it has guest speakers, a hands on area and will be held in a generally larger building (The Lake City Community Center). It would also be nice to meet up at this one as well, if anyone is interested in going and would like to do a lunch or dinner- please let me know!

I wouldn't expect anything like Anaheim but it kinda iis the biggest one for Oregon. I've been a vendor at a few other shows (Unique Animal Expo in Hillsboro and WCCBE shows) but that Metro Reptile one definitely is the nicest one. I'd go early though, I've noticed at local shows that most of the desirable stuff sells fast and then it gets real slow later on. My highest end animals are usually either gone in the first hour or don't sell at all.
I'm still not sure if I will be getting a table or not. This year all I did was some pairings to prove out poss het cinders, if I get some I am not sure I want to sell them at Oregon show prices lol. And if I don't, then I'll have normals and hypos, not really worth getting a table to market them (Unless someone would want to split a table with me ;) ) well either way I will go, it's fun!

Tara, I've been eyeing the Emerald City Expo. If I can find someone in my area who wants to go, with me (aka drive) I'm so there!! I've already been warming some of my friends up to the idea.
Also, a little corny get together would be awesome!!

Jenn, I'm excited to see you there! Even if you don't have a table, I'll be cool to walk around the expo and take lots of pictures!

I just wanted to remind everyone that this Expo is coming up QUICKLY!
I have no idea how I am going to save up for both this Expo and Daytona (I will make sure that I manage to somehow, LOL).

There is going to be a CS get together on the morning prior to the show for breakfast, if anyone is interested.

Here is a link for $1 off coupons for the entrance fee.

I'm only going to buy more supplies, hides etc. I'm not buying any snakes there lol

I don't think there is any real breakfast type restaurant in the near vicinity of the hotel so I am going to contact the organizers of the Expo and see if there is a place in the hotel we can meet. I was thinking everyone could bring a breakfasty item (like a pot luck) I would bring a variety of Costco muffins :D

I wouldn't mind IHOP, but if we had the get together in the hotel our vendor members would be able to come hang out after they set up their tables.
