The UTH should be under the tank, the thermometer (you only need one) should be directly on top of the glass over the UTH. The thermostat should be set at 87°.

That is WAY too hot for the warm side. Should be at 29C or 85F (give or take 1 degree Celcius, or 2 degrees Fahrenheit).

So. I have my thermostat on its lowest setting and my warm side is still reading 36.5 c .... My house is really warm during the day and night ( house holds heat horribly ) .... Not sure what to do ! Any ideas ??? She is very active since i bought her a hammock and place two paper towels together so she could climb.... I found her today on the cool side which reads 26.7 c ....

What is the setting on the thermostat? Is it digital? It should be able to program to 29°. How big is your viv and how much of the viv does the UTH cover?

Guys, I'm not sure but I think Nicole is using a rheostat. Nicole, didn't you post a picture of it and it's just got a dial on the front? And no wires that go inside the viv? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Absolutely correct has a dial with settings of low med and high .... I bought digital thermometers the suction cup to the viv i have them placed under the substrate ..... The urh plugs into the rheostat n it plugs into the wall lol .... I weighed her n she weighs 8 oz's (0.5 pounds) n she is two years of age
