Reptile building!

Carinata

Ever Evolving Exotics
As my collection has grown, and I've focused on running a business, I've began to reach my limits in my reptile room. With incubators, hatchling racks, breeder racks, shipping boxes, feeders, etc. My grandparents own a 10 acre property 15 minutes away from my house, they've lived there for close to 40 years. They used to actually have a farm on the property, and there's a building that they used to keep geese and horses in and now it's vacant. Well I talked it over with them and I'll be paying rent to use that building for reptiles. There are lots of things it needs. New insulation, flooring, and water. It already has a sink and cabinets. Looks like this is going to be my big project. Hopefully by this time next year I'll have all the reptiles moved in. Just figured I'd share my excitement!

You might want to look into remote temperature monitoring. That is the thing that would worry me most.

My plan is to keep the entire building at 80. All cages and racks would be controlled with herpstats. I know there's a program where you can check your temps on you cell. So I would get that on my Blackberry. Also I would have a security system installed. It's going to be a huge investment of money but well worth it.

Once the building is finished, the next thing will be buying new animals. I am hoping to add some high end Ball Pythons, Western Hognoses, and of course more AFTs!

I hope so too. I'm hoping to be able to breed various species. I'll be doing African Fat-Tails (duh), Ball Pythons, Western Hogs, High End Corn (I need a shatter from Walter!), Carinata, Beauty snakes, and maybe some Retics. I also want to rebuild my Heralds Snake collection (I have 1.3 on back order). Hopefull I can have some cabinet sized incubators in there. Once I have a building to operate out of, my operation will grow 10 fold!

I am glad to see you are going to start on Heralds snakes. Are they all going to be coming from the same place? or are you going to try to get some fresh gene's into the collection?

So I was at the building yesterday and it needs a lot of work. At this point we're not sure if we're going to keep the building or just build another on the property. If we did that, I could build it to my specifications. We'll see what happens....
