Great news!!! I really am pulling for her, you know.

Actually, one of my most recent updates (Everest) escaped a few months ago... I spent some time looking for him, to no avail. BUT, after a few weeks, I was putting laundry away and had set down a laundry basket LOADED with clothes. As I was walking away, I noticed a body and tail flailing away from UNDER the basket... So I grabbed the basket and tossed it aside to find Everest underneath. I picked him up and checked for injury... didn't see any obvious signs, but, let me tell ya... I breathed a GREAT sigh of relief when he ate AND pooped. Scared me to death.

So, I DO know how something as "nasty and innocuous" as poop can be so "relieving". LOL.

Boy, do I ramble... Sorry for the book. :)
 
Wow! I am a latecomer to the thread but just have to leave a comment. You've done so amazingly well to keep this little one going, when most would probably have put her out of her misery. I hope she continues to improve and wish you all the luck in the world!

Grace is still alive and well, and after roughly a month of consideration I think I have decided what to do with her.
I have contacted a pet-center that helps kids that have cancer by allowing them to handle or just look at the animals.
I feel that Grace is a testament of beating the odds, how the will to live can overcome severe injuries, even if it means to be handicapped.

I don't know if they will want her but... if they won't, I will find a place that does. I feel she has a lot to teach, and I think that in such a place, she will gain the respect she deserves.

What do you think?
 
I think that sounds like the perfect place for her. Her story could inspire others to beat the odds. =)
 
I'm glad she has been thriving! I think your idea sounds like a great one! She definitely belongs in a home like that :) Best of luck to you and to her :)
 
Grace was picked up today by a very nice woman, who wishes to become a vet.
When I contacted a therapeutic animal shelter that works with children they said they cannot afford her keeping and demanded she undergoes blood tests... she is smaller than the syringe.

In short, I got bad vibes... and this keeper is very nice and caring... I believe she has gone to a good home.

hehe I will try but... I think that to a degree it's keeping "strings attached" which I kind of oppose. If she will want to, she will keep me posted... if not, it's her choice.
It's like I am forcing her to keep in touch... maybe she doesn't want to for God knows what reason?

On the other hand she did take the Corn Snake Manual as a loan so... I imagine I will be posted.

I was just hoping you could ask gently once. Then if she follows up with updates, great, and if not, well, that's OK. I wouldn't want to be pushy either, for the same reason you so eloquently expressed.

Great save you pulled off here, little Grace ate & pooped & shed & found a new home!
