Results of my Midlife Crisis Sale!

Exactly! That's what my co-workers did whan I got my sportscar. Sort of like a football pool.

(I still haven't gotten a ticket after 5 years, but I know where the windy country roads that aren't patrolled are located - hehe!)

Seriously, have fun. Sports cars are wonderful toys!

Rich, I'm very glad to see that you went ahead with getting yourself a vette, and it is a very nice one indeed.

On another note, I actually thought of taking my BoardOfInquiry.com domain name and setting up a general purpose BOI site. Not sure I could survive the additional headaches though.. :crazy02:

pffftt... I'd put that on the back burner and just focus on burnin' some rubber for a while

Man, tires cost WAY too much for that car to be burning them up! Well, I guess I could burn up those old ones on it now on the way to have the new ones put on, though. As long as the front tires don't pop on me. That could get ugly. Have the woods filled with pieces of blue plastic and me hanging from a tree limb for squirrels to extract their vengeance. Pretty gruesome picture.......

Congrats Rich!

You gotta live life like there's no tomorrow brother, so congratulations and enjoy it guilt free.

Getting a new car is probably the second best thing to getting a new snake. :)

When you decide to breed it can you put me on the list for one of the babies?

Just took a photo of the vette now that I have new wheels and tires on it.

The new tires made a BIG difference in road noise. MUCH better!

Still got to buff out some scratches on it, but all in due time, I guess.

The other day Connie and I went over to St. George Island, and on the way back on route 98 I goosed it up to 100 mph. The car is rock solid. The only thing you could tell that was different then driving at only 40 mph was that the trees were whizzing by a LOT faster. The vette wasn't even breathing hard, but I felt that was good enough for just a little muscle flexing of the engine.

That is one sweeeet Z71 extended cab you have there . . . how come you were so far back when you took its picture? That blue thing is in the way, can't see what size tires you have on it. :)

Actually that is my wife's truck. She has been dying for one for years now (she says she has wanted one since before she could drive), and last year I bought it for her. She held down the fort completely last year when I had that nerve problem in my right arm, so I just had to show my appreciation for her taking over for me when I was down for the count.

She ABSOLUTELY loves her truck! Want to commit suicide? Put a scratch on it and let her see you doing it. Just make sure your dental records are up to date so the coroner will be able to identify your carcass. :sidestep:

I think she has 16 inch rims, but I honestly haven't paid attention to the size of the tires. Pretty good sized ones. She got a real cream puff with that truck. It's about as brand new as a 2001 can be. I found out it was a repossessed vehicle, and whoever had it really babied it.

And I'm not back real far at all. I'm using an interesting zoom wide angled lens on the camera. It's a 12 to 24 mm zoom that doesn't give you the typical fisheye look most very wide angled lenses will give you. It still distorts when you are close to a subject, but nowhere near as bad as a fisheye would do.

You are one lucky man Rich! A woman that wants to drive a truck!

aar arr arrr (ala Tim the Tool Man Taylor)

Though I would recommend reminding her (gently that is :eek1: ) that it's a truck and it's meant to get a little dirty and scratched up!

PS Way to go getting her such a sweet present. Behind every great man is a great woman.

Silly rabbit! Trucks are for girls!

Hmm, my wife says the same thing. I asked her what self respecting he-man truck would have "bun warmers" in it and she says hers is a girl truck, so that is perfectly acceptable. :)

Of course, if I have to climb into the vette some cold morning, I may be wishing I had them installed in that vehicle ...............

Yeah man! This thing is REALLY nice to drive. I think I'm going to be spoiled for certain now. It's pretty unbelievable how well this car handles. It takes corners like they aren't even there. Perfectly flat with no tilt or roll of the car at all.

Gotta get some new brake rotors now. That's the problem with buying a used car, I guess. There will be things right off the bat that will need to be fixed. They aren't squealing yet, but there is a very noticeable ridge at the outside edge of the rotors to tell me they have been well worn down. But at least I can get those spiffy new drilled and slotted zinc plated rotors as replacements...

Thanks.
