There are some more, I didn't take many because Rosie was charging around and at times was playing with bigger dogs that were a bit rough, including a german shepherd who made her yelp. I also had to watch she didn't go in the ponds that were frozen over as there's been such a mixture of freezing and thawing I wouldnlt risk her breaking through the ice.

Thank you! Our home landscapes look so much alike right now. We have the same amount of snow on the ground.

All the snow is gone now, although there's still plenty of winter left for it to come back. I set off for an early walk to the river today, to try to see the partial eclipse and get some photos. I failed, because I forgot I'd need a filter, and the clouds were obscuring the sun most of the time, but I did get some moody light effects by shootng straight into the sun.
Rosie had a great time, especially as we met her little friend Ollie, a terrier mix about 6 months younger than Rosie. As I walked with his owner our dogs took it in turns to chase each other around.

Then Rosie and I walked around the reed bed, with Rosie discovering the fun of chasing off the blackbirds sitting in low bushes guarding their berry supplies

And then the fun really started, as the ice on the ponds has melted Rosie got thoroughly wet and muddy bounding about with joy, so even though I didn't see much of the eclipse it was a lovely way to start my day

Thanks! I just found out from my sister that there will be a big working dog show near enough to attend during my anual leave in March so I shall be taking Rosie there and be sure to share our progress on here!

Today was supposed to rain heavily, but Rosie and I got out to the river anyway, lots of clouds and tons of mud but the day stayed dry for us.
Rosie got to play chase with her friend Ollie, and I saw a little grebe in one of the channels out on the mudflats

Further along into the scrub and along the rides, there were plenty of rabbits out feeding, so Rosie got very interested..........then chased woodpigeons!

The rabbits sat tight, so Rosie didn't spot any at all, however she successfully hunted several sticks and bounced all over me when I couldn't stop laughing

The last pic looks like she is saying 'but mom I was just having fun'.
She did have a lot of fun. Playing with Ollie involves them taking it in turn to chase and nip each others bums, emitting blood-curdling growls. There were other dogs to play with including a lovely pair of dalmations and some labradors. Probably the most fun though was a really naughty thing....
There was some sort of outdoor 'mums and toddlers exercise group'. I could hear instructions like "bend your knees and then reach up high, really stretch" from behind some bushes, then peals of laughter......Rosie had found them and was trying to steal goodies from under the buggies. With the toddlers laughing Rosie was too excited to behave for a little while, but luckily the group were ok and said it was a hazard of their meetings they were well used to

Another walk to the river today, meeting my sister with Porridge and Brock, and a lovely little Border terrier called Monkey

Nice dry days for taking pictures have been rare so far this month, but Rosie continues to successfully hunt sticks and plastic bottles! She's actually had a good go at catching the rabbits a few times now, including a good run thwarted by the bunny escaping under brambles this morning
