Thanks! It's crazy to look back at those old pics, and realize just how much he's changed... hard to see when you're with him every day, ya know? He is really turning out to be a handsome snake, and has a wonderful temperament to boot.
P.S. Do you think he's outgrown his 15qt tub? He seems a little cramped in there recently, and I'm thinking of moving him into a 32qt soon (when I build a new rack next month).
Isn't it amazing? I didn't even realize he'd change so much, since he was my first corn snake... boy was I shocked when I later saw an adult RO picture! His orange is getting darker with every shed, so I'm anxious to see how he looks in another 6 months.
Time for some updated photos! Scout is now almost a year old (birthday in September), and getting pretty big... weighing well over 100g, and his orange is still gradually coming in.
He desperately needs a bigger tub... just waiting on a new rack my friend's building.
That's a cool thread and a cool snake! I started with the first pictures and saw the progression jump to this beautiful large healthy snake! Very enjoyable to see the difference.
So glad you've all enjoyed the thread! Scout is not only a looker (IMO), but he also has the greatest temperament - probably the best of all my corns. So he's been a true pleasure to own, and I consider him a beloved pet at this point. Look for more updates around his birthday! Maybe I'll give him a gift, perhaps a second hopper mouse that week?
Well, you should be! Just kidding, but he really is a great animal... I've since been told the Aztec pattern isn't "desirable" in a reverse Okeetee, but I don't care about that. He's just a pet, and I'm not sure if I'll ever breed him - we'll see, though.
Scout says thank you! Here are some photos from the other day, having fun with a paper towel roll... does EVERY snake think these are cool hides, or what??
Finally got my new rack finished, so all the snakies have an appropriately sized home. Scout was moved into one of my old racks, which holds 30qt tubs with back heat... I've now designated this a "corn only rack," as it doesn't stay quite warm enough for the pythons. Kinda big for him & Betty (the other juvie I moved), but it seems like they're enjoying it!
