*Screams helplessly* The big reptile move

whippet

Tara
The big reptile move was this weekend. Last night I loaded the car with 11 snakes and two lizards. By the time I arrived 1 snake was missing. The little male cali king who got loose once in my home too...and found 2 months later. He is now either in the car...or loose in my home. He was one of the first packed and sat in his "tupperware" for a while before I loaded everyone into the back seat. So I have no idea where he got out.
I am really panicing because if he is in the car...there is a neverending source of places he can hide.
Lauren and I are going to try the old live mouse in a bottle trap idea....but the car is so hot during the day...even with windows down...I am really worried. Any other thoughts? We tried flashlights last night...pulling up seats...I can't rip the car apart since I borrowed my parents for the move.
I feel like such an idiot and failure. I have probably killed this poor guy and he is the most beautiful bright yellow banana king ever known. So sweet and gentle, he never musked or struck. I am sick. :puke02:

Aww Tara, I'm so sorry. Maybe rather than doing the mouse trap in the day, try it at night (starting at dusk?) and watching the car every hour or so. I really hope you find him. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :(

oh no, I am sorry to hear this, moving is stressfull enough. Good luck and let us know how your search goes.

I you return the car, your mom with find it at 70 mph.

Glad to see your spell check is working, though.
:D

Tara, don't beat yourself up too much about this. We all know you take great care of your animals, and this was just an accident - it could have happened to anyone. Moving can be stressful, and I've never been able to do without loosing at least a few things.

I hope you find the little guy.

Drat...I saw this and hoped there'd be good news. Is there still someone living at Tara's old place that can keep an eye out for him?

Only Tara's ex who is not exactly inclined to look for missing snakes. No news... he has not showed up yet. The heat yesterday was extreme.
