Show off your vivarium

I kept my old corn in a four foot by two foot cage :x
I don't believe in the "too big of a cage" thing. I know a lot of people who keep balls in things around the 3 foot cage size, but mine is also in a 4 x 2 and he utilizes every inch of it. He's all over that thing, so I'd definitely say the bigger the better for them. They're much more active than people give them credit for.

very true...Blaze is in a thirty gallon right now and he is about 19 inches and he is going to get switched into a bigger one possibly tuesday

Well, it's not "too big" it's just huge. Especially for a male. I could see keeping a female in it. I just think it'd be more fit to have a larger breed to take advantage of the width of the tank. Besides, I'm wanting to go to a "commercial" setup soon. Stackables or something like them. schnebbles pointed me to a really great website for vivs.

What do you think? Its a work in progress need so more vines for the back and some cool ornements. The light in the corner gives off no heat I have a thermometer below to make sure , they only reason its there is because the viv is in a dark room and I was worried about a day night cycle.

Remember the more decorations you have, the more there is to sterilize. I picked up a 24/7 light that keeps the ambient temp nice and warm, and is bright enough to simulate daylight, but dim enough that it doesn't interrupt a nocturnal breed. My sandboa is super active now that I have that light in his viv.

I want to show off mine but it is not complete :p I am moving about 12 hours away in a couple months so everything is in pieces (I will get a corn once I am settled at my new place) but it just shows everything I have collected so far....

And you will see that I will be using reptile carpet and that is because I am REALLY allergic to shavings, I have tried a lot of different ones and I react to all of them, all to different severitys.

looking at the pictures I just posted...I figured out I have more decor...lol its like an addiction buy for our snakes :p

My addiction is the snakes themselves... I might pickup this hypo my gf just got in a trade. But I don't NEED another male. Bah! Yeah, you went a little overboard with the accessories. Remember, the more you have, the more there is to clean!

I have no problem cleaning :p However half of that is for my friends snake. But I do have a lot of double things because when I clean something I can replace it with the other so that I can take my time cleaning and make sure I clean it well enough for my liking

hahahha I think for now I will stick with just one....but there will be 2 corns in the house....plus some dogs...and cats..and maybe a pig

*Picture 1, the cage itself bit blury thats becouse the phone wouldnt focus right*

*Picture 2, A log, an ''dug in'' hideout and some synthethic plants*

*Picture 3, A large fern, a bathing/drinking bowl, and a drinking only bowl and a log hide on left side*

*Picture 4* under the fern you can see the rather large corner hideout, the snakes LOVE that*

*picture 5, not realy a viv picture but just to give you a idea of how big the cage is*

So it has 4 hides, 2 waterbowls, 1 large climbing log, LOTS of synthetic plants most for decoration.
Hope you guys like it, the snakes are very pleased with it.

Wow! I'm impressed. Did you make this set up yourself or did you have it made? If you had it made for you may I ask where? I'm about to get a second corn and since I spent a fortune on the first viv and know now that I was ripped off I thought I might seek some advice before tackling the next one.

She had them made - go look in husbandry and there is a long link from when she got them, and where. They are quite nice! I hope my new vivs look as nice.

Here's my new one that I have one snake moved into. It's an Ikea cabinet that I permanently fixed the shelves and cut through middle to join both sides. Makes the dimensions 46" x 15" x 22" which is somewhere between 50-60 gallons per snake.

I always looked at cabinets and thought "i could make a viv out of that" but i figured i was just missing something that made it impossible since i don't see anybody doing it.
