Snake cruelty - Jackass 3D *SPOILER*

I watched Jackass 3D last night and there was a part I really wasn't happy about, and I was actually wondering how this was even allowed on the big screen.

In one part they build a 11 foot deep pit and cover it with a blanket.
They also filled it with fake snakes since the guy is terrified of snakes.
He falls in the pit - and now this is when it gets bad.
They start throwing live snakes at the guy - all different kinds, corns, boas, pythons, etc. I think one was even a huge Burm.

Anyways, the guy is freaking out and obviously stepping on the snakes since there are tons and he's freaking out almost crying.

So they throw them down over 11 feet onto wood pieces and crap, and they get stepped on. Ouch.

Really ruined the movie for me, and I'm still pretty pissed about how this would be allowed.
Hope all the snakes are okay.

So really, anyone who wants to see this (just know there is a scene involving this).:nope:

I'm actually pretty grossed out about the movie in whole now because of it.

There were funny parts in the movie - but it was more funny, since the vibe of the theater. Looking back most of it was really just gross other then them hurting themselves.

Then after I saw that part I was like, yeah this movie is pretty gross and stupid.

What happened to all the animal rights/welfare organizations? Wait, I know, they are too busy trying to keep us from being able to keep snakes as pets than trying to help the animals....

Actually, they're too busy taking care of ANYTHING with fur and trying to boycotte everything that doesn't (except MAYBE geckos and beardies).

First thing you got to remember is that the Humane Society in Hollywood was set up to stop the cruelty to horses and dogs.

The second thing is Jackass3D is not a Hollywood made movie so they have different standards to go by. The local law enforcement would have to be call in on a animal cruelty case for the people who made the movie to be fined or punished.

The third thing is that more than likely they will get a fine of maybe $100,000 max and the movie made millions. So kill a hundred snakes pay $100,000 and make millions sounds like the American way to me.

Sorry if I am off base because I do refuse to pay money to see a movie about stupid people.

Love the Fatman

That's terrible. If they were puppies or kittens, people would be outraged. Snakes and reptiles always get the short end of things. No one cares about them because they aren't "cute and cuddly". Fish, too.

I can't remember if it was an episode of jackass or part of one of the movies, but Steve-O swallowed a live goldfish, then vomited it back up into a bowl. It was blatant animal cruelty. That fish probably died a few minutes after the shot was done, if it was lucky it might have made it but the fish they got was from some guy walking around with a bowl trying to sell them. :/ Obviously not someone who's trying to take care of them.

It just infuriates me.

Disgusting.

I saw part of a "previously banned" film on TV recently where I swear a lizard was skinned alive. I can't remember now whether it was an iguana or a beardie (seen a lot of new films recently and I turned that one off pronto). If it was fake it was an incredible fake, especially for an OLD film. I'm almost positive it was real.

It's no better than 'crush p*rn' in my opinion :(

^^

That IS disgusting, ugh.
I don't understand how someone could do that, or how they could get enjoyment out of that...

and I have heard of that crush stuff... Some people are REALLY, REALLLY messed up.

even worse than this i saw a show where they were talking about a woman who hoards snakes, and on the show they mentioned rattlesnake round up down south. i was completely horrified to learn that people were skinning, decapitating, and even eating these poor snakes. even though theyre venomous its still wrong.

i actually think it wasnt that bad.

When dewd started dropping in snakes, Bam was hanging from the close edge and they were dropping the snakes on the far edge, not under Bam. Also, the hole was dug 11 ft deep, but was then filled with cardboard boxes. Bam was standing on the boxes and his head was almost level with the top of the hole. that tells me they probably had the boxes 2 deep. I'd guess the snakes actually dropped maybe 5 or 6 ft, onto rubber snakes and cardboard, and none seemed to be underneath Bam. Bam stepped down once for about 1 second to regain his grip. I doubt any snakes were actually hurt.

Just my opinion. I saw this thread before I saw the movie so I paid attention while it was happening.

I was still trying to figure out why there was support for JackAss to begin with.. Its just stupid.. Sort of like Beavis and Butt something, and other retarded and stupid programs as such..

funny you should mention that, B&B did the intro for this movie.

How ironic is that.. I never seen this movie and these guys always seemed to be of the Beavis and Butthead mentallity..

I'm going to see it today, finally. With my most snake-fearing friend of all! I missed 3D, though...

Well, I agree with Scruffdog and Josh- I didn't see any snakes get hurt. I was watching.
