SOS Rescue something weird looking poss tessera?

Ok I have no clue what I got this time, I am thinking tessera? or cluster... he/she is a hot mess.. 1.5 -2 years old, been fed one pinky every 2 weeks, again another 10 gallon tank with no hides and a hot light...

was sold as female, got her from room mate to room mate I am now the fourth owner of this poor snake..

I have given her one of my covered plastic bins with no see trough and I gave her a moist hide as well and a big bowl of water, I made the one end a tad hotter.. so she actually has 90 degrees instead, my vet taught me to if I suspect a sick animal to give them a little higher heat gradient so they can choose but it helps to boost immune system and appetite (this goes for lizards, please confirm it goes for snakes too, otherwise I will lower it). I also bumping humidity a little bit as the snake has this old shed that hasn't even started but looks like it's been stuck on her for a while if that makes sense...

Her scales looks burnt, clustered together, scars? OR is she supposed to looks like this?

I will give her 10 days to settle in, see what happens with the shed, and go from there... WHEN I feed her I will feed her a small fuzzy and go from there and up it. I don't know if she's been fed frozen before, they just said a pinky, she refuses anytihng bigger.. well I can see that with no hides in the tank....

Let me know what you guys think... any input on this girl would be appreciated.. If she doesn't improve within the next two weeks I am taking her to the vet.. I have sent him the pics as well to see what he says and she is in a different area in my room all together. I saw no mites or anything of that sort at least...

Poor girl...

Poor baby! I think she is an Aztec/Zig Zag. Higher temps can help boost their immune system, so that might be a good idea as long as she can move to cooler areas.
Yeah, some damage to the scales, not quite sure what might have caused them. Do you know what kind of light was on her? They almost look a little like the damage I've seen before from when someone had too powerful of a light on their corn and gave it a "sunburn."

It looks like her scales melted together.. i wonder if she has issues getting her shed off because of it... I don't know the strength, look like it was a 60 W red bulb, but since she is healed now it was likely something hotter before...

Thank you for letting me know what sorta morph she is, to me she looks so weird with dual colors scales, I am not sure what is scar tissue and what is her tbh..

and yes she has the cool end as well...

I just feel sorry for her.. I hope I can help her... so that is most likely why they have had feeding issues.. she's been too hot too cool with no belly heat...

Thank you again for answering, I have basically been camping on this thread to get some answer..

I think that is a nice aztec!
Good pigmentation too.

With plenty of food and nice temperature it will be looking great.

I have nothing to compare to.. she is sweet though..

Do you guys know what I should do regarding the shed? I suspect it's an old shed covering the whole body.. (I don't see a start or a stop ie partial shed). So i am not going to start pulling on it... BUT you shouldn't feed them when they are in shed either but I suspect that if I don't her system won't start and she will never shed at all?!

So an answer to that question would be very appreciated... Right now she is sitting on the hot spot soaking it, she was moving around last night I heard her. I gave her plenty of hides...

They did say they have had feeding issues, I suspect because the lack of hides OR they lied...

Poor snakey...

BTW where in Tyreso are you? I used to work at Brunnen out there.. I meant to ask you a million times but keep on forgetting...

I wrote a half sentence.. I have nothing to compare to as in I don't know what standard they hold in any way shape or form, I had no clue what she was even, just knew she was sickly... I think she comes from a breeder as she was sold with a gender and is not the MOST common morph out there.. maybe I can find her breeder here.. I just wish people would do better research :( and thank you,, she is a cutie... I am keeping an eye on her to ensure she not taking a turn for the worse..

Wow, she's in pretty rough shape. I agree that she is not a Tessera but some form of pattern morph. My first thought when looking at the sunken scales was dehydration and a stuck old skin layer. A good shed would do her wonders. I'd up her heat, give her a hide box filled with moist moss and attempt a very small meal once she settled in (give her a couple of days). There are no harden fast rules with regard to feeding while in shed. I have animals that stop eating 10 days before, some that eat and then shed and those that eat while shedding. So a small prey item, like a fuzzie, would be a good middle ground choice. She needs the calories to repair all the previous damage and from the looks of her there isn't any surplus fat at her disposal. Watch her feces carefully too. If it is oddly colored or shaped (loose, runny, green), with a sickly sweet smell you will need to get her on antibiotics or Flagyl. Recovery with reptiles is a long slow uphill trek. Patient endurance helps when it comes to getting them back on track.
Good luck to you and her.

Terri

Thank you Terri <3 Perfect information!! That was what I was worried about regarding her. So a small fuzzy it is, and yes she has the humidity.. I am surprised that's dehydration though she had access to a big enough bowl she could soak in. Do they sometimes stop drinking if they are feeling off??

Thank you Murder, but i know I am not the only sucker here...

So she was cruising Monday inght, and all day yesterday, so I thawed a peach fuzz tonight, I smushed it a little bit, (trying to make it more tempting).. I did the zombie dance she sniffed it but nothing... I jabbed once at her face nothing, not even a hiss..

So I figured she might be a shy eater due to so much lack of protection previously so I stuck it in her bin and covered up...

However, it is now gone and down her throat..

Due to the lack of food I do not want to over feed.. I know in starved lizards if you over feed and dog for that matter you chock the liver... so I was thinking to do one fuzzy/7 days, for another 3 weeks and see how the stool is... and then switch to 2 fuzzys? or a small hopper/week? and then bring her to a more normal maybe/more frequent schedule?

You guys are the experts, what would you do? oh and I found a poop in her old cage, it was small but looked normal except for very dry and only one poop... Either they cleaned often OR...

A fuzzy sounds like a good idea. Maybe for a month or so, until she starts putting on weight. Then up it to hoppers.

Thank you guys for the input <3 and I will keep you all posted on her.. as I ever get tired of taking pictures.. she is resting digesting her food.. I am hoping to see her improve.. she wasn't as thing as the other snake someone got off of CL and she's doing well so I am hoping this girl can bounce back too...

I hate humans... I got weight and lenght on her... she is 3 feet 3 inches, and 128 grams.. picture of her "poop" is coming soon...

Wow- No offense but she looks awful... I'm only a first time owner but seeing my babies' scales and seeing how poorly she's been treated, it's a total 180.
She let you take lots of photos, she seems like she's going to be a swan =)
That's great work, you taking care of her. At she's in the right hands now!
I am gunna need to see some progression photos of her positive progress :p

I know I'm waiting for updates too lol I can't wait to see how she looks when you're finished with her when she's all fat and happy and healthy!!

she did one small gelatinous poop... her system is all empty :( she ate her second fuzzy today... She is active and curious, but still too placid... no change in her appearance..
I am hoping to see a better poop soon, but I suspect it may take another week or two or even longer due to empty system...
