I See Snakes...
Though our breeders are few, we still think they are special in thier own way and I wanted to give them a bit of attention as we get them ready for this years season. They are a bit thin, having been in brumation for a little while now, but they should easily start bulding up their form once they finish warming up properly (1st post brummation feeding being scheduled for this coming friday). I wasn't going to take pics tonight, but they were so calm when I was checking their water that I went ahead and spent a few minutes with them.
First up is our First Lady, Pearl the 2004 or 2003 snow... She succesfully bred for us last year, producing 10 healthy hatchlings.
The pics are a bit overexposed and she looks a tad washed out, but I'm working on my technique for taking pics of amels and snows. I hope to have better pictures after her first feeding of the year.
Next up is Charcoal, an early 2004 ghost/anery girl. This will be her first breeding and we'll be monitoring her weight gain and health prior to hooking her up with her beau just to be sure she's ready. I'm certain she'll be up to par, but don't want to take needless risks.
Here she is:
One more for this post. This little man, Opal, is an 04 snow from Kathy Love who will be paired with Charcoal. It's his first breeding this year as well, and we chose him because we wanted to prove out some hets that one or both might be carrying. Charcoal is supposed to be a ghost and Opal could be het hypo. We'll also be able to confirm that Charcoal is indeed Anery A and determine if she is het amel.
Here he is:
Not the best pic, but I have the same trouble with him as I do with Pearl, but I hope to get some better ones later this week.
Up next, Granite the 2005 Aztec...
