What you have there is a classic butt-muncher... but it's fine. Don't worry :)

typical i always get the wierd ones :crazy02: as long as hes eating thats all i care, but it does look kinda sick when you can see a head inside a head.
cheers for putting my mind at ease.

:eek1: ooh great pictures!! Sid also does this, i thought the fuzzie had to be eaten head first so that it is in the direction of the fur.

Some snakes just don't care, but the way a snake tells which is the head end is they poke around on the mouse and feel the way the fur grows and feel the hard skull, then they know. That's why it's more common to see pinks and fuzzies munched than adult mice.

Hendrix is a butt muncher as well...we took this pic on the weeken, he ate while in my hubby's hands!
I'm not sure if he's big enough to eat fuzzies yet...what do you guys think?
p.s. this was a first..normally I feed him in a feeding tub.

Hey, I got the same problem with Demeter man. It aint no big thing. She sometimes attacks them from the side. The only thing that I hate is when, she's got the mouse about 3/4 of the way down and the pinkie starts to squeak. LOL. Im like.." Ah shucks, girl. Dont you have a heart? Let the poor thing go." :p

My Florida King is a butt-muncher. It isn't so bad when she eats f/t, but when she gets the rare live pinky(only after my MBK refuses), she doesn't even bother to constrict it. She just munches down, bass-ackwards...squeaks and all...

Wow. I'm glad to know that my little butt-muncher Schism isn't alone in the world of butt-munching snakes. :crazy02:

I've never fed him a live one, I'm not sure I could watch that, especially if it started sqeaking !! :puke01:

I also have a butt muncher. Mousetrap likes to test his skills, by taking the mouse sideways at first. But then he realizes it's not working, and goes for the butt.

LOL, same thing Hendrix does, he usually goes for the side first...do you think by looking at the picture, that I can move him up to a fuzzy yet?

wow those are some wicked pictures ill try get some more pics of kellog eating this way and post them on here.
