secretly normal
So yes, I'm sure you've all just been missing me like crazy these last few weeks
*crickets cherp*
Uh, anyway, I went to Thailand. My friend was taking some time off school and volunteering, and figured I should spend the last 3 weeks there with her. I'll post cheesey vacation photos later, it was an adventure. One thing about Thai cluture - the Buddhists, is that they see the cobra as a sign of protection. One of the 7 aspects of Buddha is him sitting on a cobra, he was in meditation when heavy floods came in and a giant 9 headed naga (snake) lifted him off the ground for protection. This however does not translate into respect and understanding of the critters. On with the show.
So, we booked a tour for the floating market. The tour didn't even mention there was a cobra show option, but there was! hooray!
First I saw the Elephant trunk snakes, got to love that green slime on the side.
Awesome cohab job there guys.
It actually gets worse, too
But it's OK, I'm sure they're fine.
Ya, that's right, ANTS. Dead and COVERED in ants. But no time for that, the show is about to start!
very educational.
Cobra guy was first, he hit that thing on the head so hard! At the end they proceed to say snakes are lucky, because.....they have two penises! And then they pop the snake right there to show everyone. One little kid touches it. Ew, and ow.
Here is the part with the mangroves. Some of you with sharper eyes may know what the furry creature is in the top left.
It's a MONGOOSE. And they pit it against a cobra.
And, the video links:
how to catch 3 snakes
OMG that poor animal
Mongoose vs cobra
That's it for the Cobra show, keep in mind this is a third world country. We went to a village where some people didn't have a complete set of walls for their homes, dogs roamed the street with mange, and my friend's host family fight roosters.
Other than that, I loved my Vacation and I want to go back.
