The Greyhead Line

Those animals are not mine, they are from Frank Schaub. He paired Anery Miami x Anery Miami ( both from greyhead line) and the snows were a pretty cool surprise when he looked into the incubator

most animals of this line are miamis, hypo miamis, anery miamis and ghost miamis but not amel miamis or snow miamis. holger has a nice homepage where he showes his animals, as you can see, he has a lot of this line in his stock ;)

FYI, here's the sire of the whole line. an awesome SMR miami x SQ cross called "Mr. Greyhead", afaik the only "perfect" example of this young line.

Interesting this thread came back up now that we have more information on the Masque gene.

I don't know if Menhir still posts here or not, or how much progress he made with these snakes, but do you guys think it's now safe to say that Menhir's non Bloodred grey heads were all Masques?

Pretty sweet project for way back when!

nobody knowes exactly but this line is created with SQ und SMR Miami. I know masque is floatoing around in SQ lines... masque would be a good explanation. Menhir has quitted the hobby 2 or 3 years ago :shrugs:

a recent example, hatchling from this year

Wow the greyhead really comes out on this years hatchling it looks like it is getting better and better. Congrats

Have you determined it to be the masque gene yet? I highly suspect that it is.

It is the masque gene, Susan.

This line resembles a highly linebred masque miami lineage + amelanistic, hypomelanistic and anerythristic. It's a doubel linebred morph for miami body colouration and a highly expressed masqued gene. When Michael Glaß started this lineage in 2007, he didn't knew (nobody knew thesedays) there's a head pattern modifying gene in the mix.
