The official Black Milksnake thread!!

Even in blue, Coal looks AWESOME!!! I can't wait until the three that are in my care get that big! :) I'm glad that you took the pics... even in blue.

NOW, I'm sure we'd like to see pics AFTER he sheds! :poke:

LOL, he eats two regular adult mice every two weeks now and seems to be shedding more frequently during this recent growth spurt...

Just out of curiosity, do you have a weight on Coal? I know he's not quite an adult, but he's the biggest Black Milk I know of. :)
Speaking of, it's about time for me to get a weight on Joakim. He needs to shed already! :awcrap:

He's heavier than my camera... :grin01:

OK, since Fred insisted that I post pictures of Joakim now, (;)) here he is. He's in shed (and I think he's thinking about shedding while I hold him), so he's a bit darker than normal, and he has gotten huge! Onward!

That's all of the pictures until he sheds. :)

I feel like I should mention this...He's hanging down my arm right now, and he's "licking" my arm. He's just sitting there flicking his tongue, but he's not fully extending it. He's adorable. :D

LOL... insisted.... DARN STRAIGHT! :D

He is BEAUTIFUL, Suzy!! I think that even in shed, these guys look awesome. The milky-ness gets all caught up in their black areas. Very kewl.

I look forward to seeing him AFTER shedding!

And THANK YOU!!!!

Thanks, Fred. :) And thanks for the repeated nudges to get pictures of Joakim up. :grin01:

I am also excited to see him after he sheds. I'm thinking that I might get a weight on him. I think he's easily close to 200 grams right now. He has gained a lot of weight since I last weighed him, which was at the end of June. I also might get a measurement on him. :)

You are very welcome! As soon as he sheds (hurry up, Joakim!) I'll get updated pictures in his progression thread. It's a nice day today, so i'm hopeful that he sheds today.

Coal Fresh Shed

Coal shed again, he's still on two adult mice every 10 to 14 days, skipping feeding days he's in blue...

Wow, Joe!!! Coal is looking REALLY good! I envy the day that my 3 look like Coal!!

What a beauty! How big is Coal?

I have no idea... :shrugs: big? LOL! I'd guess around 3 1/2 4ft long and over 300 grams. He looks slender, but only because he's wearing black...
I don't weigh mine as religiously as I used to, mainly just the yearlings I'm putting into brumation or borderline females I'm thinking of breeding...

One thing about these guys... they have the weirdest little tails! Instead of a nice taper like corns or kings, you've got this "end in a pyramid/cone" kind of thing going on. At least you don't have to REALLY worry about shed skin on the tail. LOL.

Thanks, It seems from the neck up, has been taking the longest to change. He still has some red tint on his neck that can be seen at certain angles and light, and a little white on his face. He doesn't have that much longer to go before he completes his color change though, maybe a couple months...

Yeah, I don't know about yours, but his comes to a really sharp point that he's stuck me with before. I wonder if that's how that Stinger Myth got started...
