Well, Janine, can't anything else as I have already said pretty much it all.
Your finger sausage snake is gorgeous! ;)

Glad to hear Lil is doing so well. Scarlett is doing well, too and hasn't regurged since early September. LOL, I remember when we used to be the syringe sisters. My how our babies are growing!

P.S. I love that rock you have in there with her!

am about to become a syringer again! Am going to have a house-guest non-feeder.....................................

I'm not very hopeful about this one, as its apparently never fed at all, but I'll give it a go. The owner tried a live pink from me before christmas, and it didn't want to know, so we might not get anywhere, but it's worth a little try, so out comes the blender again!

I agree with Meg, you are a glutton for punishment :crazy02:
Good luck with this one ;)

Oh boy do I need luck! Here's Skooge, all 3 grams of her. I'll syringe maybe 0.5-1ml into her tonight, then see what happens. I'm not even going to attempt letting her feed for herself until she's up to hatchling weight of 8 grams or so. She's lively enough, and so pretty I've got to give her a chance.

Oh my god Janine thats the teeny weenyiest hatchling iv ever seen. Poor wee mite!

But we all know you have a talent with the non feeders now - and your perseverance Will surley pull her through! Best of luck and keep us well updated!!!

I think you're setting a dangerous precedent there, Janine, but I applaud your big heart and nursing mojo. Skooge is a cutie, too, so I'm rooting for her. Good luck.

Maybe one day you can recoup some costs by distributing "Janine's mouse juice" worldwide to households with reluctant feeders and queasy owners. :)

I certainly will, Elle. As she's never fed at all, I'm worrying about the reptile version of 're-feeding syndrome', in which metabolic disorder (for want of a better description from my head!) results from feeding starving or severely malnourished patients. I'm going to have to be very careful with this little girl, and have warned her owner that she may die anyway.

Ok, 1 pinky head = 0.5 mls of snake-food inside the foster child.

Lets just hope she keeps it down!

Why was she allowed to get into this state in the first place? Is it a first time owner?

A first-time owner, yes, and a really nice chap. He was given her by a friend who bred them, but she was a non-feeder. He'd read the feeding thread on here, tried the usual tricks, then came to get a couple of live pinks from me.
She moves oddly, I'm not sure if it's due to weakness or if she's got a deformity/kink in her tail end. I think it'll be fingers and toes crossed for his little one

I don't understand why a non-feeder is given to a first time owner, that is so weird :shrugs:
Was he aware that she was a non-feeder when he was given Skooge?
I would have thought that breeders will sell hatchlings if they have at least ate once, then again, this is me.
Anyway Janice, good luck with this tiny little skinny one!

I'm not sure of all the details, and I expect he'll come on here to answer some of the questions, but as far as I can tell he genuinely cares about this little one, and has been trying hard to get her to eat. Due to his work schedule and mine, plus my trips away, this is the first chance for me to collect the snake from him

I don't doubt of his care and willingness to give this little one the best chance possible but it was more a "dhu" towards the breeder.
Trips away, not toward NL, is it? ;)

 I've been spending time at my chaps' being roadie/groupie on my weekends off, in between that and the horseriding and working a couple of 7 night shift runs....................................I've been a bit busy!

Hey all

Thanks to diamond for taking in my Skooge. Its really really good of her.
Im not actually a first time owner, Ive had a corn before with no problems.
I didnt know she was a non feeder and it wasnt from a store or proper breeder, a friend had a lot of babies and needed to shift them so i took one.
Like diamond said I tried every trick in the book, read this site backwards and forwards,But shes been there and done it so fingers crossed :santa:
