Thoughts and prayers needed

I have a dear friend that suffered a horrible tradgedy and could use all the prayers he can get. Last night he lost his home, glass blowing studio and both of his dearly loved dogs. He has suffered some very serious hardships over the past year and the fire has just destroyed him. Please keep him in your prayers.

Thank you

Done!

I'm so sad to hear that he lost everything. Things, like homes and studios can be rebuilt, and I hope he's able to do that. Losing a loved-one, on the other hand, is not something that can be replaced. I hope, instead, that he can find comfort, strength, and the will to carry on.

Thankfully he was not there when the fire occured. He broke his leg and had to have surgery two weeks ago to repair it. It was very badly broken. He's been staying with his mom so she could help care for him while he's able to get around and take care of himself. Friends have been caring for the dogs. He feels guilty for not being there with the dogs lastnight, that he could have saved them, when in all honestly he would have died in the fire too.

Oh no. I'm really sorry to hear that. I HATE house fires. I had one once. Now, for the rest of my life, every time I'm driving home and smell or see smoke, I think it's my house. At least he didn't lose his life...

Fire has always been my biggest fear. We are so thankful he was not home, he would have perished in the fire as well. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

That is so terrible - especially on the heels of other tragedy as well. At least he is lucky to have the support of a friend such as yourself. Sending positive thoughts your way!!

It looks like a lot of the local artists are going to donate artwork to auction off during a benifit to raise money for him.

We found out that it was arson. What makes it 100 times worse is that it had to of been someone that the dogs knew or said person would have NEVER gotten into the building, let alone to the gallery on the second floor. Said person used an accelerant to start the fire, in the middle of the floor and then at the top of the steps so the dogs could not get out. The only good news out of this whole horrible tragedy is that the dogs passed from smoke inhalation and that the fire itself never touched them.

How can people be so cruel? Be so heartless? I just don't get it. This hurts my heart even more then knowing that my sweet friend/brother lost everything because of the fire. To know that someone he knew and trusted did this horrible act.

Thank you Eric. I am still in shock that someone would do that to such a sweet and caring man. He's the type of person that would give you the last $2 to his name, help anyone in need, give you the shirt off of his back.

Thank you very much. I've shed so many tears for him and his loss. I just cannot believe that someone we know could be that cruel and heartless.

That is terrible. I hope whoever started the fire is caught and charged with the most severe crimes available under Ohio law.

I will keep him in my prayers. We had a house fire a few years back (Heat with firewood and had a chimney fire that ened up inside the roof) lucky for us we were able to get it out but it was a very scary situation. GLad to hear he wasnt home and is ok, how ever im sure it has to be really rough to loose to close pets and every thing you own :( Glad to hear he was ok though. We will be praying for him.

That is horrible. I can't believe that someone would do that to someone else. The poor dogs.. I feel badly for them and your friend.. I hope they catch whoever did it.. I am glad that there are friends out there that are willing to help him out..

Wow. Sometimes people are absolutely horrible. I could never do that to a dog! I worry about my own pets getting caught in a fire. My thoughts and prayers are with him. I hope that whoever did this never has a chance to do such things again.

He's not doing to good. It's horrible to watch your friend go through something like this and know that nothing you do can change things, bring them back. They tore his building down yesterday. He was able to salvage some things that were not damaged but there wasn't much. The artist community has several things planned to raise money for him.

Thanks for all your prayers.
