Thoughts for those is the path of the storm.

I just wanted to say my thoughts are with those of you in the path of Ike. I hope all the preparation ends up being being for naught. Please remember that no thing is more important than your well being. Take the warnings seriously; Be Safe!

I would like to add my well-wishes and prayers as well. Thanks Terri, for a thoughtful and needed post.

Yes - for a while, it looked like it might be headed HERE! While I am really happy it is gone from our area, I sure don't wish Ike on anyone else, either! I really hope it turns out to be "much ado about nothing!"

Sure would be nice if Ike is the last real storm of this season.

Good luck to all in Ike's path!

My mom and sister had to evacuate, but my dad had to stay out at STP. It's only about 10 to 15 miles from the coast, if that, but my family lives 22 miles away from the coast. Good thing the buildings at the plant can stand a plane flying into them. My mom and sister are actually in College Station, down the road from me, and they brought my dear baby Ziggy with them, who loves sleeping with me, so he's with me in my apartment, rather than the hotel room.

My thoughts and prayers are out there for the folks that couldn't evacuate, as well as those that did. I hope that damage is minimal in the places right on the coast and further inland, and the flooding is minimal.

My hopes and prayers are with you all.

Hopefully this ends up being another time where weather forcasters blow things out of proportion.

Be safe!
