Well, my corn ate today. Usually after he eats he hides away for a couple days.. but today he's hyper. He ate fine, and i think he's going to shed really soon(but when he shed before he was less active, not more active). It just strikes me as strange. I can't think of why he'd be climbing around so much when he just ate a few hours ago. Any ideas?

Is there a visible food bulge? Have you recently increased the size or number of food items, or shortened the feeding intervals?

If you increased prey size or number, or increased feeding frequencies, your snake may simply be feeling more "energetic". If there is no visible food bulge, he may be "hunting", or simply doesn't feel the need to lounge around digesting, because the prey hasn't truly "filled him up".

It may be an impending shed. I've seen a couple of my snakes eat and then cruise their vivs looking for something to hook their old skin on so they can down to the business of shedding.

Ahhh the breeding season blues. This time of year to snakes must be like a full moon to a werewolf. The time they go potty.

Well, he seems a little young to feel like breeding.. I got him from a pet shop, so i don't know exactly how old he is.. but he's only about a foot and a half long. He still looks like a baby.

I did just increase the amount he was eating, though. I fed him three pinkies(just until i get fuzzies). So that could very well be it.

Now its' a day later, and he doesn't seem to have a visible bulge. But when i was feeding him two he didn't have a visible bulge a day later either, but he would still hide for a couple days.

Also, i do think he's going to shed soon. So that might be it, too. When i was just up there a minute ago, he was still slithering around un-hidden. And i didn't see any shed skin. So.. if shedding is the problem, then how long does it take for them to find something to "hook their old skin on"? Last time the old skin was just wrapped around the water bowl.

Its possible hes still hungry. I have 60gram 06's on 2/3 fuzzies a meal (every 5/6 days) and growing like weeks. I would say being active after dinner time means hes not full...
