Utterly depressed (RIP little one)

Terribly sorry to hear that!!! We put so much into taking care of these often misunderstood creatures, it hurts so much when the go!

My deepest condolences! It's a terrible feeling to lose a pet, and with reptiles, it seems so much more common to come as a complete surprise. I'm very sorry that you had that happen. Take care, and feel better soon.

I am very sorry to hear about this Heather :( Although I would HIGHLY recommend you have an autopsy done, especially since the circumstances are so baffling. Is it at all possible there was a heat spike in his or her box? Chondro's don't do well at high heats :(

Thanks guys, feeling a bit better today, just chalk it up to crap happens I suppose.

No heat spike, according to the thermometer's hi/low settings.

I've been so paranoid about the other one now, I swear I checked on it every 10 minutes last night, and when I woke up for work this morning, and right when I came home. She probably wants me to stop staring at her :D She is doing fine, I caught her changing perch positions this morning, and now she's curled up on her perch flicking her tongue at me.

It's bad enough when you see some problems developing, and just can't get them over it. But when it just happens "out of the blue", you feel like you never even got the chance to try to help.

So sorry!!

With GTP's it's usually seemingly out of the blue... they are insanely fragile, they can't really withstand complications and die very rapidly once something is wrong.

It is not uncommon for these little guys to sustain permanent kidney damage upon shipping...which at some point simply causes a total organ failure...
GTP's pass away even in the most expert of hands... including Greg Maxwell for that matter, who knows his way around GTPS, to say the least.

Sorry for the loss of your little one.

So sorry, sweetie. I've been looking for this thread for two days now, since Nanci first mentioned it.
I just dreaded that it was going to be Marius. I am glad it is not...but still just as sorry.

Aww I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, you have all of my dearest sympathies. :( When anyone loses a snake it hurts me just as much... Again, I'm really sorry for your situation and I wish the best health upon you and all of your snakes.
