All my vivs are in my lounge. I live on my own, but this is the room where I spend most of my time when I'm home, and the TV is usually on. I have a bank of vivs next to my PC desk and after a while, I usually look round and find a few snakey faces peering over my shoulder!
The Corns seem fine with this arrangement.
The only snakes I've ever had who didn't take to it, were a pair of Sinaloans that I bought as adults. They'd been raised in a reptile shop's breeding unit, and as such, had never come into contact with normal domestic activity (sounds/vibrations, smells etc). They never settled down in the three years I had them; they were always nervy and fought like demons against handling. In all our interests, I sold them on to another breeder, who said they were good as gold in his reptile shed.
